    Pulling a Trapdoor barrel??

How hard is it to pull a barrel off a Trapdoor? LGS has one, but the bore is worse than a sewer pipe. suprised it hadn't corroded thru to the outside of the barrel.

I would recommend a long presoak with penetrating oil, the last ones left the Armory more than 125 years ago.

I am debating this too. I have one that has been shortened to 24", (wood and all, it looks original except for the length), but it has an afwul deep dovetail filed in for a rear sight ant about a fifteen degree angle to horizontal. The dove tail is deep enough that I have no desire to shoot the rifle with that barrel on it.

If I ever find a decent barrel cheap enough, I will change it. Until then it can reside in my safe.
