    338/06 or a 35 whelen will do for anything short of a cape buffalo.

    This thread keeps coming up and makes me pine that I do not shoot my 338-06 anymore. I built my first 338-06 in 1979 and shot a bazillion (GG) cast bullets in it as well as hunting deer and elk. I had LBT make me a PP mold about 25 years ago. Interests took my shooting elsewhere and I never fired one PP load.
