on auction sites that usually means "shot it a few times, decided muzzleloadin' wasn't for me, put it in the rack/safe". maybe it was cleaned first but often-times not. if they don't have a good pik or two of the bore I'd say yer chances of it bein' in "nearly unfired" condition would be somewhere south of 50-50.

just went & looked at the pix. barrel doesn't look too bad but, that bore's quite a few notches below "nearly unfired" condition IMHO.

i look for the same thing too. i especially always marveled at the "mountain-man/re-enactor" laptop & phone cases that used to be quite prominent on evil-bay

    more like, "Nearly Overpriced"

and, after looking at pics, I'd also say, the bore was nearly cleaned properly.

Rode hard and put away wet would be closer to accurate. Thanks for the laugh.

Nearly unfired is like being a little bit pregnant.

i bought one years ago like that, new on the outside. the neighbor had fired it with pyrodex and put it away ten years before. i should have checked the bore. it was like a stove pipe. useless. had to rebarrel it.

The seller does think that it is an extremely valuable barrel. I think a person could get a barrel at a much lower price.

    Probably never fired uphill either.

I don't know how many times I've heard "But I only shot it one time."
