The last one that I got stuck with is a white elephant. My brother traded me a Savage 325C that is not drilled and tapped for a scope.
A receiver sight is going to set me back $75 when I find one to fit it.

Last purchase was a Type 56 (Chinese SKS) with an aftermarket folding/collapsible stock and a scope. A bit of filing on the stock where the magazine hinges into place allows use of detachable magazines (switching back to the non-detachable magazine requires a bit of disassembly).

Heh....my gp100 came home with me the same day the AC went out. Whoops didn't plan that out very well, but it was a great deal on an almost new gun.

Thanks. I have never seen a Mossberg bolt action that attracted more than a passing glance from me, but when I saw the Patriot Walnut and that it was available in 338WM at a reasonable price, it was a no brainer.

this is the last gun I purchased, it is a retirement presentation piece in process, still to be laser engraved with the engraved glass display case, engraved belt, engraved mag pouches and engraved Puma knife with engraved sheath. The engraved and colored holster is in the picture. It is a Ruger Combat Commander that is just a bit altered, Novak adjustable sights, match barrel w fitted bushing, fitted trigger with a hammer and sear job, ambi safety, S&A mag well, Safari extended grip safety, fitted mags serial numbered to gun. It shoots cast 200 H@Gs into 1 inch at 25.

Yesterday picked up two from my local dealer that I purchased on gunbrokers. First was a used Ruger #1 in 30-06. Very nice rifle with nice wood and complete with a Leupold 2.5x8 VX3, superb trigger. This is my first #1 ever.
    The second was a NIB S&W 617 10 shot with a 4 inch barrel.

    DPMS AR-10 GII Hunter:

And to be clear: I ordered it on a web site (Internet) of a local gun shop. Had it delivered to that gun shop. Filled out a 4473. The background check came back in minutes. And the loophole that doesn't exist, didn't stand in my way of purchasing on the Internet......

I don't care for bolt's like that or fluted barrel's but, that is still a really nice looking rifle!

last gun I bought was a S&W MP Shield compact in 9mm. Got it strictly for a carry gun and for that it's really nice! Gun before that was about 10 or 12 years ago. Win mod 70 Featherweight in 6.5x55 with a Redfield/Leupold 2x7 scope.

I'm not keen on the flutes either, they say weight saving, but are so shallow they wouldn't have saved more than a half ounce or so. I'd like to turn them off, but would probably be affecting the strength.

The shields are a great gun.

I got it from Ron Owen of Owen Guns in Gympie. $AU695 + $50 shipping and handling. He ordered it in, only took a few days to get to me in NSW. It took longer for my club's armourer to get a rego number from the registry. Top bloke. Owen Guns 07) 54825070
