I didn't know Ruger Super Redhawks were available in 5 1/2". I wanted a 7 1/2", ended up with a 9 1/2" which I didn't like so I sold it. Hunting around they were all selling for around $AU1200. I discovered this one at $500 posted to my dealer! Apart from a few rub marks on the barrel (it was ancored to the shooting bench in a ccommercial shooting range) it looks like new. It is a 44Mag.

My family gave me a 20 gauge SxS Yildiz. I love it because it's pretty and I hit the first two clays my son threw for me. And it's light!

I haven't bought a new / old gun for several weeks now ... and I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms!

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't reached my "Expiry" date!

My latest is a Savage 99EG in 250/3000. Gun was built in 1950 and is in very nice shape. It has been
D&T for scope and sling studs added. I was looking for a 250 but wanted carbine. This one came along at reasonable price so I grabbed it. 99s are scarce in my area in any caliber. I don't like lever
guns with pistol grip stocks, that seems to be all I've seen lately. I've owned several 99s and the most have been 300 or 303s.

Got a Winchester Model 37 12 gauge. Didn't buy it, it was a gift from my uncle. It belonged to his father/my grandfather. Its was made in 1936 probably, maybe early '37. Red letter and has the early pig tail lever.

Ok, so old age is not for the meek and timid. I get that but I can't seem to remember if it was my Springfield Trapdoor or my German
Martini-Schuetzen .22LR target rifle turned squirrel gun. That darned gun shoots lights out to 200 yds with just about any kind of ,22 ammo I stick in it. It must be that old 26" octagonal barrel. It needs some TLC so I plan to start working on it next month and will hopefully have it looking like new by the spring.

Really great shotguns, made when quality counted. I've also got a 12ga., almost like new. A .410 and a 16ga. both of which I restored to like new condition. The .410 took many a California Banded tail Pigeon when I was young-- good eating. Just passed on an internet auction for a 20ga. The price was right but the condition was not so nice, so still looking for one of those. Also have a cutoff 12ga. (legal length!) waiting to be made into something useful, the only one that isn't a "red letter". Nice 37s are getting hard to find.

I received the gun a couple weeks ago...topped it with a 3x9 Bushnell Trophy Bone Collector that I had sitting here collecting dust. Got all my ammo loaded up and headed up to the hunting camp in NH last weekend. Had it hitting paper in 3 shots...and shooting 1" groups at 60 yards (with a very awkward gun rest setup)...I hope to tune it in closer over the next week or two at my local range with a proper rest. This year, I'll be giving my '06 the year off in PA woods for this coming hunting season. I'll definitely be taking the 35 Rem. I've wanted one for so long...I just have to take it for a walk. Its really been the only major firearm that was on my bucket list....CHECK!!!
