A friend of mine had a C.Sharps ''old reliable'' in 45-70 he bought it 5 yrs ago. They put the optional pistol grip stock with cheek rest on it. It has a 30'' #1 hvy octagon to round barrel, rear Vermeer peep tang mounted sight, with hooded front sight, and inserts for the front sight. Pretty nice rifle, super wood to metal fit, nice finish, and its unfired. I picked it up for what he paid for it 5 yrs ago. Also got a set of new unused dies, some cases and bullets as well. Almost forgot, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Here is the 17A Glock photos that I promised. The A stands for Australia, as we have a silly 120mm minimum barrel length for autos here.

With standard 17A barrel Lone Wolf barrel underneath (I thought my mate was saying a Wolff barrel):

With Lone Wolf barrel fitted, standard barrel below:

I am happy with it, apart from my trigger finger rubbing uncomfortably on the trigger guard, but I will make that a separate thread in the handgun section.

Gave my Marlin 30-30 to my aspiring nephew hunter, so when visiting a LGS and saw a Sears 30-30 lever action I picked it up for $225. It's a model 54 which very closely resembles a Win 94.

Good bore and carried a lot, but for the price, I shouldn't be too disappointed. (Not being a Marlin that is)

Just bought a like new H&R. M 58 12 ga. single shot shotgun from a local Gander Mountain store.
They sent me a coupon for $20 off on a purchase of $ 100 or more so I asked if it was good on the shotgun being it was priced at one cent under $ 100.

They said OK so I bought it. Surely don't need it, and have owned many already in 410, 20, 16, 12, and 10 ga. but for $ 85 OTD. I think it will be good trading material.

No pic but the gun looks as it may be unfired.

The last gun I bought. Laugh if you want to. Hi-Point .45 JHP. Shot about 400 rounds in it and have had not one problem.

A couple weeks ago an excellent, all original, completely un-mucked with 1908 Mannlicher/Schoenauer. Working up a cast bullet load at present.

My most recent was not purchased but gifted to me, a Marlin XS7 in 308W. Luckily I have in my brass stash about 1K cases and also an unused Leupold VX1 3-9x40 scope. Gotta love friends that know what you like for Christmas. I'll use it soon on a boys week out hunting trip for hogs.

I'll let you know I still and deciding on a scope and will probably start with 100 round of factory ammo and build from there on reloading. The out of the box trigger can be pushed forward as a single stage set and the release appears to be around 4 LBS or so but very smooth. Will get it down around 2 #s to match my 22-250 once I have some gun time on it. Then I'm gonna smoke some prairie rats. Will keep you appraised on a separate thread so I don't hijack this one. Been a couple of months ago, but my newest rifle to play with at range is a Howa 1500 that's been rebarreled to 6.5CM. Had a fellow range member install a Shaw varmit contour Savage replacement barrel in the Howa action. Involved rethreading the Howa action to Winchester threads and same done to the Shaw replacement barrel and then a Savage style barrel nut used.

That would be a neat little rifle. Are you setting it up as a switch barrel? It seems a lot of expense and work if you are not.

    Not being critical, just curious.

The last gun I bought was a 7mm Rem Mag: A Herter's with the BSA action, nice stock and in great condition. Bought it last summer when I was up working on my cabin. It had the original 1" diameter scope mounts so I took a chance and bought it for $300.00 total.
I found it at a out-of-the way gun/pawn shop. Like any used firearm you take your changes when it comes to accuracy. But this one shoots very very well with 140, 160 and 175 gr J's. Shoots OK with 120 J's. I have yet to find a good load for cast and my first tries with cast were not encouraging.

Last month I picked up a S&W m25-2, 45acp in very nice condition. Have only shot a few old 45R
so far. I have picked up a couple 45acp molds and am looking for a good deal on some 45R brass.
Will spend winter working up a bullseye load for it.Attachment 183849

Today I bought a franken1911 .45ACP. Pre WW1 Colt slide on a FedOrd frame. Shoots & works well but the barrel was apparently fitted in a cave in Pakistan. A fun project for $375. Best, Thomas.
