Last spring I bought a Browning BLR 358 Winchester. The trigger is getting better, and the tabs on each end of the magazines have been filed to fit the mag well/latching. It likes IMR 3031 powder charges with 200 gr bullets. Five shots in an inch @ 100 yards with a 200gr Hornady & 48gr 3031, but with a 200gr RCBS cast bullet and 39gr 3031 it put three shots into a single lobed hole at 100 yds. The range where I volunteer as a range safety officer has a "dime club", meaning the outside of three shots must be covered by a dime. That gets harder with increasing bullet diameter. Measuring the extreme outside of that lucky group with a digital caliper and subtracting one bullet diameter yields a .07" group, c>c. That group proves two things: 1. Anyone can get lucky, and 2. Three shot groups mean nothing, as David Petzal (Field and Stream) often mentions.

Absolutely gorgeous Model 1896 Swedish Mauser circa 1910, and an Egyptian contract FN-49 in 8x57.
Wasn't planning on getting either one, but when buying primers at Cabellas I saw the Mauser, and when I went back the next day to get it I saw the FN-49. So I ended up going back a couple days later and getting the FN-49.

Generally Cabellas prices on C&R guns are ridiculous, but someone screwed up and had reasonable prices on those two. Now I need to find some 6.5 x 55 ammo, everyone seems out of stock in PPU online. I don't want to buy US made 6.5 x 55, Cheaper than Dirt has some S&B, but I don't like buying from CTD either.

I just bought a Remington Model 700 sps varmint in 308. It's on its way back to big Green for repair. Trigger couldn't be adjusted to a reasonable pull without having to remove the adjustment screw. And when I tried to mount the scope bases I couldn't. When I tried to remove the plug screws one of them stripped out on removal and one more was extremely difficult to remove.

I just picked up a Taurus pt111 millennium that touts the long pull trigger on the first shot and single action feeling trigger on subsequent shots. I am never sure what I'll get when I pull down but it is comforting to have 12 rounds of 9mm on my hip and in a rush I don't think I'll know the difference. And if it gets confiscated, I'm only out 300 bucks. If shooterg outlives me I hope he will help my wife dispose of my cache.
