A Steyr RFP, $249 in Australia, which is very cheap for here. The photo is not mine, as I ordered it over the internet ad haven't seen it yet, but is an example of the Australian version with longer barrel.

Added a used Savage Axis in 7mm 08 this weekend. It was cheap an came with a cheap scope. Wanted to play with this caliber a little. Didn't need another 7 (have a 7x57, 280 rem.,7mm mag) but what the heck, it is only money and wanted to spend some. Back in the day, when I had my 7x57 built. The Smith thought a 7x08 would be good, it was new then, but I went with the longer case as I was using a 1909 Arg. action and thought there might be issues with the shorter case. By the way, The Savage Axis has got to be the UGLIEST rifle made in the last 50 years or so.

A friend of ours is terminally ill and we've been helping him to sell some of his assets and to draft a will and make final arrangements. He insisted that I take two of his rifles for the help we've been giving him as his health declines. He gifted me a Lee Enfield No. 4 Longbranch full wood with a target adjustable aperture rear sight and a Lee Enfield No. 5 Jungle Carbine, so I guess I'll be loading some more .303 British in the New Year ...

My LGS called and said the Bergara BXR .22 rifle I ordered 7 1/2 months ago had come in so I hurried on down. When I finished with the 4473 and handed them the form I spotted a pristine S&W Model 21 .44 Special in the case in front of me. We added that to the 4473.

Waiting for the latest to arrive in the mail. An original civil war Sharps 3 band military rifle that was later converted from percussion into .50-70 Government. Tracking number says that it should arrive about December 27th so it will be a late Christmas present to me! (I'll post photos when it arrives ...)

OK, Merry Christmas to me! The Sharps arrived 2 days early on Christmas Eve. Even came supplied with a home-made wood transport / storage box.

A 1892 Marlin in 32. I have a centerfire pin, dies, bullets on the way. I am going to reform some 32 S&W brass so I can shoot it. I has a Lyman tang peep sight and a #5 front sight. Really looking forward to shooting this one.

I love the way it feels in my hands so much that I bought it's twin. This one is D&T for a scope and has one mounted. I found it on gunbroker and got it for under $400. Now it's time to get loading

Ok, I admit it. I've wanted one since Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis used them in Lethal Weapon and Die Hard.
The stars, gift cards, and cash aligned today! 92 FS Italian- no rail. I'm resisting the temptation to shoot it tonight

    My first S&W

Hi all and Happy New Year,
I finally got my first Smith & Wesson. I bought a Model 25 with 6.5" barrel in .45 Colt since I already shoot, load and cast for that cartridge. Going to take it to the range soon to try it out. Ed

Just bought a Winchester 69A. Bolt action 22. Pristine condition as if it was just out of the box. Went to do the paperwork and no serial number. Early 60's and has probably just sat in someones safe for the last 60 years. When they get new guns in they go up to the gunsmith to check them out before placing them on the floor and pricing, so I had to request a price. I had an idea what I would spend and he asked significantly below that number so there was no hesitation. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

I just acquired a New Model Blackhawk in 45 colt with 7 1/2 barrel in great shape. No wear marks on the cylinder, barrel, frame or grips. Got it for a decent price - #370 including buyers fee, shipping and transfer fee.
