No pics available yet, but I picked up a Ruger77/22 K-Hornet and just won on GB a Savage 110 for less than $200. It’s currently a 270 Win, but will soon be a heavy barrel 6mm Remington.

I got a marlin 1894 357 mag and one of those springfield armory defender series 1911 pistols. I haven't tried them out yet. For 475 you cant beat that price for a new springfield………………….curdog

Jeremiah stopped by the other day, said he was going to St. Louis for a new Hawken and I could have his old one.

Funny thing, that -- Jeremiah asked me the same thing as he rode east. Don't know what he meant by it.

Guess that would need to be the last gun I re-bought -----------------------

Back in the early 80s, I stocked a new RUGER #1 "B" barreled action with some high end and very fancy black walnut. Shot a 3/8" group on 3/6/1982 and not long afterwards stupidly sold or traded the rifle to a friend.

Well, at some point that friend, Curly" sold or traded it to another friend, Don, who kept it for a safe queen until earlier this year when we finally came to an agreement and I, paying MORE then the rifle first cost me to build. brought the rifle home.

The rifle had a standard Leupold 10X when I parted with it and I suspect that Curly was the one who swapped that scope for a Leupold 10X with the higher target turrets.

Since the rifle came home, I have had the beautiful stock checkered. AWESOME work by Kathleen Forster, and have been out three times with load development test loads.

I think the winner is 26.5 - 27gr of Varget behind a 55gr Hornady V-Max. The rifle has been shot LITTLE since I parted with it, so the barrel is still great. Probably could find something that shoot a bit better if I wanted to waste the powder and bullets in more testing, but seems to me that if I can't hit "it" with 5/8 - 3/4" groups I'd likely miss "it" anyway.

Really sweet trigger!!!! I wonder if Curly might have touch it up a bit.

The beautiful and accurate rifle is even more beautiful with the checkering completed, and now I have a rifle with a bit of a story to pass on to my oldest son.

I'd attach images, but it seems for a number of years that for some reason I am unable to do so.

A Smith & Wesson model 629 deluxe, .44 mag. With a 3" barrel. Picked it up last Friday morning, went to the range and fired 200 rounds of .44 special and 250 rounds of .44 mag Buffalo Bore. My hands still sore.
