Looking for Carbine Load Data for Mihec 44/444 295 Grain

I have the old Lee group buy version of this mold and worked up some data for my Rossi 92, but was curious what results and load data others have come up with in their Rossi or other carbines. The reason I'm asking about the Mihec version is that it looks like it was much more popular than the Lee version was, so I figured I might get a lot more info.

In looking back, I found this thread, but it didn't have a lot of info from .44 mag carbine users:

    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...6-gr-hp-Bullet

Mine come out right about 295 grains sized, lubed, and gas-checked, and are about .434, maybe just a tiny bit bigger. I size them with a .434" sizer from Buffalo Arms.

So far I've worked up to 18 gr. Lil' Gun, and 21 gr. of 296, both using the middle crimp groove. My 92 doesn't like it if I try to use the bottom crimp groove. I get an average 1495 fps velocity with a SD of 10 with the Lil' Gun load, and 1487 fps and SD of 18 with the 296 load.

I took the Rossi 92 and the Lil' Gun loads black bear and deer hunting in Prince William Sound a couple years ago, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to see how they would perform on that trip.

I'd love to hear what kind of results and loads others have come up with for their carbines.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Wow, not a single reply after more than a week? I know there has to be at least a few guys using these bullets in their carbines. Anyone?

I keep checking back on this thread from time to time over the past year, and am simply amazed that no one has any interest in posting their experiences with this bullet. There are at least 60 members of this forum who have this mold--either the Lee version, or the Mihec version, but not a single one has posted about their experiences with the bullets aside from myself. This is extremely disappointing. Thanks to msh97th6 for expressing interest.

Is this bullet design a disappointment to those who bought these molds? If so, please say it, and describe what you believe the problems are.

Even if you're ambivalent about this bullet, I'm still very interested in loads people have developed, so please, post those as well--I have already posted mine.

Sorry mike, I have yet to get a lever gun in 44 mag ... I can tell you about the lee 310, or the 240, but can't help with this one... why no PM a couple of the folks that posted about the mold from the buy or older thread?

Got the pig in my signature photo with that bullet. It expands well in wet sand and is an outstanding bullet for the 444.
