    225-55-FN 2 cavity (RCBS 22-055 FN)

Hello all. I've been looking at this mold http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/product...oducts_id=1811 (NOE 225-55-FN) (the copy of this mold: RCBS 22-055 FN) and was wondering if anyone has one. How do you like it? Pros & Cons, etc I'd also like to purchase some bullets if I can. I'd like to try some in a PSA AR I have. I'll be PC'ing them so I wouldn't need them GC'd. I've got a .225 sizer but have been having problems with rounds sticking so am going to try a .224 sizer. I'm casting the LEE 223 55 grain right now and have had luck with it but it's so short & stubby that I'd like to try something longer. The gun is a 1-7 twist and it shoots the LEE fine (when I get everything right.) But as I said I don't really care for the looks of it. Odd Huh? Anyhoo, If any out there wouldn't mind helping me out I'd appreciate it, and would pay for the bullets and shipping. Thanks Joe

I have the mold but don't have any cast right now,I find this bullet to be fine in my 22-250 and 223 Remington, have not got around to using it in the AR yet,I find it a little small for my old fingers also can be a pain to put on the GC's.NOE makes a handy little tool to help with holding these little pills.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left.

An un beautiful bullet that shoots well is a thing of beauty.

Maybe you can win a door prize for ugly cartridges, and best group at the same match!

Jake, if it's not out of line, 30(?).That would allow me to shoot a full mag of them. If you'll PM me your addess I'll send some $$$. Thank you, Joe

Sorry, if I sound abrupt, I'm on my Kindle and it's not real typing friendly (at least not for me)

I have about 10 dif. .22 molds and the RCBS 55-GC is the most accurate of the bunch, just can't run up the velocity too much.

it's my main AR boolit. cycles perfectly, very accurate. Can be shot to quite high velocity, I was pounding a 4" swinger at 50 yards at 2700fps, though now I keep them right around 2k. Destroyed the swinger.

IMHO, go with a 5 cavity, makes lots of perfect boolitz in short order.

I guess I'll be the odd man out...I probably tried far too long to get this bullet to shoot in a Shillen barreled Hornet & a .222 Rem. Ruger No.1..nothing worked. I think the nose being long..and undersized for my bores was the culprit. Now the Saeco #221 was a whole different story..accuracy right from the start. Oh..both the Hornet & .222 Rem. have 1-14" twist .224" groove.

I think the 90451 from Lee is based off it.

Is your mold a RCBS? If the nose is under sized I would contact CS at RCBS, to get a mold that casts of proper size.

the lee is a copy of the 55gr rcbs bullet.
they also copied their 200gr 35 cal rifle boolit.

if you can't get the rcbs bullet to shoot in a 220 swift/22-250/223/AR 5.56 rifle
    your doing something seriously wrong.
it has performed stellar in all of them with 22.5grs of I-4895.
the twist rates vary from 1-8 up to 1-12 or so.

I did make a slight modification to the nose area right in front of the drive band, and changed to a harder than ww alloy to make it work but work it does.
