I have some 180 grain 40 S&W lead cast bullets. However the heaviest bullet I can find a load for is a 175 grain lead cast bullet. Is it OK to load the 180s with the 175 load? Your thoughts and suggestions please

As usual, start low and work up. Five grains of lead isn't gonna make a lot of difference, seating depth might if the heavier boolit seats deeper. If you don't have a starting load drop your max load 10% and work up half a grain at a time. Normal procedure, in other words.

Thanks Wayne
It's been long enough since I've done that. I just neede reminding
Any one else have other thoughts on the subject?
I have done the same. The load data says 175 and my mold says 175, but it drops at 180. I used the 175 data and worked up, nary a problem.

These are some HSM cast lead bullets, that I bought because I don't have time to cast right now.
Out of the box they are 181-183 grains.
I'll try the 175 load I've been using.
Assuming both boolits are of similar profile, Load to the Same OAL, and drop your load by .1 grains
