Just thought I'd throw a post up showing the results I get with the Frankford Arsenal Rotary Tumbler, 5 lbs of stainless steel pins,2 heaping tablespoons of citric acid, and a "glug" of turtle wax car wash-n-wax. That's just about 1,000 rounds of .223 brass.

I found citric acid in a product called Glisten Dishwasher cleaner... It is a liquid ...1/2 teaspoon/gallon ... Teaspoon of Mothers car wash and wax ...Results in shiny clean brass that is passivated... About $3.85 for 6 oz. Local grocery store or Walmart.

Nice looking brass Phlier. I see that you use the same scientific measuring technique as I do for adding the wax and wash.

Just curious if someone has come up with a more formal process based on weight of brass and measured amount of citric acid/Lemishine and wash and wax? Obviously, brass condition is going to dictate tumble time depending on tumbler being used.

My method is much the same as everybody else with the exception I start off with hot water in the tumbler with the citric acid and the dish washing liquid, I found the hot water does make a difference.

I have the Frankford Arsenal tumbler. Istarted off with 1 tablespoon of Dawn (1 ounce) and 1/4 table spoon (not more than 1/2) of LemiShine. I now use 1 tablespoon of Mothers Wash and Wax and 1/4 to 1/2 of Jet Dry. I think the Jet Dry gives a better quality of luster than the LemiShine. Could be in my head but I like the Jet Dry better.

Has anyone tried a water and soap combination in a tub style vibration cleaner? I'm not sure on how tight the lid would be to be water tight.
