    Too Wet to Plant

I managed to till the garden spot between rain storms.
It was still a little wet but tillable.
I got the lettuce and spinach planted during another lull in the rain.
We have been having rain storms here off and on all winter that averaged 1-2" per day.
Our average annual rain fall is 60". I`m sure we are well above that this year.
The forecast is for a few days break next week.
I am hoping to get the rest of my spring crops in then.....dale

i lived on the west slope of washington once, never seen so much rain since. blackberries and blueberries really grow their and if i was living by you i would plant loads of those. raspberries really do well their as well a strawberries. every area has its good points and weak points. the only thing that grows good with out pushing it where i live is prairie grass and black pine.

It is finally dry enough to plant today. I will put in 2 more 300 foot rows of tomatoes. That will give me room in the greenhouse to move the seedlings from the 200 cell flats to the 38 cell flats. The last 2 years have been overly wet and this one is worse. I have a well and can handle a drought, but not too much rain.
My corn seedlings survived the frost, It went to 32 yesterday morning.

Got me a tractor this year, just bought a tiller for it. Tilled up a small garden plot, whooh it is rocky! Knew that it probably had a lot of rocks, just more than I expected. I'll spend more time pulling g rocks than picking produce this year.....

We're too dry....less than 1" in the last 21 days. Got the garden spot tilled once...but it'll be puffin' powder until we get another rain.

We have an abundance of wild blackberries here.
We also have wild black raspberries, we call them black caps, and huckleberries.
We have a small patch of raspberries in the garden.
I see the asparagus is popping up. It should be ready to start harvesting it soon....dale

Holy moly. We have snow and mid 20's. This past weekend was 7*.
We're still 2 months away from planting here. Anything before Memorial Day is pretty risky.
That said, I do have the garden covered in manure and tilled up already. I think we're going to start some plants inside very shortly.

Well, It finally dried out and temps went into the 70s.
I got my cool weather crops in.
Harvested enough rhubarb for one pie and the asparagus is popping up nicely.
The warm weather is making me antsy to put in the warm weather crops but frost season isn`t over here yet...dale
