    Muzzle Brake Suggestion

I own a savage heavy barrel 308. It's threaded and ready for a new brake. I've looked at the APA Fat Bastard and the Rat Worx Big Chubby. I'm wanting maximum recoil reduction and minimal concussion to the shooter. Any suggestions? I really like the Rat Worx but everyone suggests APA.

Check out this link for a very in depth review of muzzle brakes. The link is just the summary of his results. If you have time (and interest) to read the whole series, it's really informative.

Also, I have a friend with a APA Little Bastard on his 300 WM and it's a dream to shoot recoil wise, but it's LOUD.

I am running a PA m4-72 on my AR in 223 and it is awesome. They make a 30 cal version as well.

the Rat Works cuts are angled both back and slightly upward.. This is how they get both recoil reduction and downward pressure
That upward cut should also direct some sound upward ..

    That would be my choice

The best brake is a suppressor. Also helps a bit with the concussion.
