    Question Index for Handloader Magazine...

    Was/is there a Master Index for Handloader Magazine--say on a CD or such?...

    If anyone might have one, was there ever an article on the 445 Super Magnum?...

    Mine is the 3rd edition - up through 96, and there is nothing listed for the 445. My guess is there probably isn't anything, as it would have been at the height of its popularity prior to 96.

    I agree with that--I would have thought maybe in the mid- to late-80's...

    There never were very many articles in Handloader for the Contender pistola. In fact most of the Silhouette craze was ignored.

    Yep, I agree with that...

    There was an issue that had a pretty good article on the 7-30 Waters and the Contender (?). It was written by Scovill. I did get quite a bit of info from it. I was just getting into that cartridge with the Super 14". Still shoot it today--the difference from then to now--I use predominately cast boolits now...

    I did a search from my handloader dvd set and there arethree references that it found. 2 were ad's from 1995 and 1996 stating thatStarline is making brass for the 445 Super Magnum and the last one is a bookreview on Hornady's 5th Reloading Handbook where the author is wondering whythey bothered having data for the short lived wildcat and that is it.

    I know that this wasn't the question, but there is load data for 445 Super Mag in the Lyman Pistol and Revolver Reloading Handbook Second Edition.
