    Zero gravity powdercoat!

I discovered something completely by accident. Using the HF red, black airsoft bb's and a square #5 Ziploc container, I was shaking and just kinda tossed it lightly in the air.

Now when I just shake seņora, the coverage is decent but some bare spots are evident. Lo and behold, after tossing it like a pizza a couple times the bullets were completely coated!

You can hear the bb's pinging off the container and bullets while mid flight, like popcorn. So there you go fellas. Make sure the lid is on tight and don't drop it!

I have great coverage using BangerJim's method but...

whatever works for you is good stuff.

Sounds like an easy way to have success

I am not a expert but my redneck finely tune grey matter thinks when you toss the container your are not making contact. So your negative vibe you may he unaware of is not effecting positive reaction of the powder therefor the magic happens in a blink of the eye. If you do not believe this try shaking wearing gloves

HMMM, wonder if putting the cat IN the container would be better, not counting funnier.
That is till mama finds out.

NO I would not do this to ANY animal, it is cruel.
But no one said I couldn't run it through my imagination.

Tape the container to the cat's back. Then it will always land upright.

But seriously, when using this method are you doing one coat or two?

Like the guy on the cliff said, "it's not the fall that bothers me, it's the sudden stop at the end"

It's not the zero g that is causing the powder to stick to the lead, static electricity in generated by making and breaking contact between 2 dissimilar objects in the triboelectric series. That's why swirling in a #5 tub may work, but vigorous shaking works better. If you are lucky enough to simply massage bullets and powder in a gallon Ziplock bag, great. I do that in the hot/dry California summers but even on rainy days I can get good coverage if I shake enthusiactically or for a long enough time. I just coated 1100 9mm bullets last Thursday night in the garage while it was really damp outside. I simply had to shake a little harder for a little longer. Baked in 3 batches and it took just over 90 minutes total including setup and breakdown.

Why I like the screw on lid #5. I shake, swirl, turn the container upside down & repeat. Less than 45sec total.

BBDT is really dependent on your climate! Here in the desert SW, we have very low DP's and BBDT works like falling off a log every time. The very teeny charge built up by the triboelectric difference effect can easily be killed by humidity. I tried tumbling in a rainstorm last week or so ago and had to shake and swirl a LOT harder, but it did work 100%.

AND...............I use the highly suggested ROUND #5 containers (ZipLok screw-on's), black ASBB's, swirl hard and then shake up & down hard. It just works. I cannot understand why people use all kinds of meat and cheese and butter containers! Just buy some ZipLok's. They are cheap and last thru dozens and dozens of "rock-n-rolls". Black BB's help distribute the teeny charge better and cushion the impacts of the boolits against each other, leaving more powder on the boolits and not in the bowl!

Just stick with what we on here have proven works. And once you get perfect boolits, then start messing around with other materials and methods.

I'm new to PCing, but have been casting for many years. Been reading in this section. One question, and maybe it's been answered, is ther a difference in the airsoft bb's? I mean, between the black, white or green bb's? I see most talk about black bb's, but my local Walmart only has white and green.
