    Star top punches

Does anyone use top punches with their star? I got a bunch with a used star along with several sizing dies for 44's.

I've been wondering the same thing.
I bought a used Star, I received 4 or 6 top punches machined for noses.
I thought Stars were designed for nose first sizing.

Stars were originally designed as base first sizing.

Base first sizing is desirable for some of my bullets because the amount of lead being displaced will leave a tail on the bases if sized nose first.

Star/Magma now recommends nose first with the flat punch. If you have any nose punches, no reason why you can't still size base first with the nose punch. I just like the idea that the flat punch replaces nose punches which are more expensive.
