I am interested in this powder as my manuels show it stomps everything else out there for magnum pistol loads. Anybody have pet loads for it in 357 mag, 44 mag, 45 Colt, or 480 Ruger?

There is more to a good powder than fps measurements. I have read several tests that showed a muzzle velocity advantage with it...but accuracy was not up to snuff.

I'm running 9 ish grains under a moly coated 20 grain Vmax j word Bullet as a fire form load in my 17 KiSS, which is my improved 17 VHA.

Its been the best combo of performance, accuracy, and clean burning.

Looking ng forward to trying it in a few whisper rounds.

Start at 27 and creep up till you get a clean burn.

TN - since you have no bullet weights - it's a cr*p shoot to designate a charge for 300-MP
So, here;s some homework for you:
    * Print off a Burn Rate Table
    * 300-MP has an RQ of 122 and IMR 4759 & N120 is on either side of the Alliant powder
Here is an excellent reloading website for multiple calibers ... http://www.reloadammo.com/

Start doing a comparison to handgun calibers that use 4759 and N120
    Good Luck!
    Regards
    John

In my Ruger SBH Hunter in 41 mag with the 215gr RCBS HT coated boolit I got over 1,500 fps and very good accuracy. Don't remember the speed on my Mosin Nagant but with a pistol scope on it I was shooting moa with the 314299 at 100 yards.
I need to get more cases loaded to practice for the elk hunt this fall but improvements to the house and repairs on the vehicles has taken most of my time lately.

I started loading @ 19.0 grains to be safe, but that was way to low. This was loaded behind a magtech 158 JSP, and things did not really start sounding and looking right until I got the load up to 21.0 grs. At 22.0 it was looking real good and I was getting 2010 fps. This is from my 16 inch barrell. Accuracy was good enough to at 3+ inches @ 100 yds. Remember it's a lever gun so 3" really is pretty good. Primers and extraction were ok with the top load so I'm sure there is a little more left to go,I did load a few at 22.5 and 23.0 grs but did not get a chrono reading on them, bad lighting or something. Primers and extraction were still fine, but there is no room left in the case for more powder as this is compressed a bit. Then for some reason I jumped over to LilGun powder and did not go any farther with the 300 load. I need to try it again and see where the top limit is. See my full report here bout midways down the page. http://www.rossi-rifleman.com/viewto...=4436&start=50

And then I jumped up to a 180 grain cast bullet and 300MP. I am using the NOE 358-180 (BRP) bullet. I think I got it up to 20.0 grains and 1975 fps, before I saw a little flattening of the primers, and so I backed it off to 19.5 for a max load with pretty good accuracy. again more details here http://www.rossi-rifleman.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=4542

I would love to see that converted Rossi, what did you do to it.
