    It's official...Texas is "home".

I am officially residing in Texas....New Braunfels, to be exact. We rolled into town yesterday afternoon, and we appreciate all of those who were praying for us during the transition. It's been a while since I've been on here, just due to the relocation events, but I thought I'd update those who care to be updated.

As an afterthought- I saw a hand calc'd ~18.5 mpg on the trip down. That's driving an F350, crew cab, bulletproofed 6.0 Powerstroke, with a good sized load in the bed. Cruise set at 70 the entire trip.

Thank God you made it safely. I went back to see that you escaped from Oregon. Good move.

    Yes, we escaped indeed.

One thing I quickly realized is that my non-cold air blowing a/c just got moved up on the to-do list. Haha!!

Welcome to Texas! That is a beautiful part of the state. I find something beautiful about every part, except the big cities and the wind generators popping up everywhere.

Celebrate by going to Omas Haus for some good German-Texas cooking.

New Braunfels is near where my Parents over-wintered for many years, in D'Hanis. The Mountain Cedar pollen/allergy season is upon you, in that area. I would get quite sick when visiting my folks, til I'd take the allergy meds.
    Good Luck

Welcome home, if you fled a State that has laws that made you leave, hope you left them all there in your travels.

We fled Oregon, which is just a couple shakes behind CA in liberalism. I have no desire to participate with that kind of nonsense again, and there were no rubber bands attached to our ankles on exit.

Welcome to Texas! I do wish there was a time machine, so you could see how New Braunfels was about 30 years ago, before it became so tourist'y, and Ommas food was still real!

That's a nice facility and a good place to shoot. My cousin Walter shoots there regularly.

Are my kids/grandkids more important than "o"'s kids, to me they are, darn tooting they are!!! They deserve the same armed protection afforded "o"'s kids.

Welcome friend. Your gonna love this state. I'm about 3 hours north from where you are at. My shooting buddy lives an hour from you. This is a nice place to live as long as you can deal with the summer heat.
