Well I bit the bullet.

I used to have a Heritige Rough Rider in 22lr and like a dummy I sold it. I ran across another one at Clasic Firearms on sale for 129.99 and bit the bullet and ordered one. Should be at the shop about the end of the week. This one has a 6.5" barrel. I have about 5000 rounds that I have been saving to teach the kids in the family to shoot. Guess now it will get burned up pretty quickly. My great nephew would shoot it all in one day If I would let him. The rest are almost as bad. My daughter (37 years old) is already trying to claim it and it's not even here yet! Oh well, It is nice to spend some quality time with the family though.

Those are fun but then again im a sucker for about any sa revolver. Does this one also come with the 22 mag cylinder?

No mag cylinder for that price but not needed for the fun factor.

Congrats! I bought a vintage Super Bearcat and long story short, it ended up my "wife's gun" since that's the only one I can get her to shoot. I ended up buying Heritage RR with a 4 3/4" barrel in 22LR and it is nice shooting gun. I haven't used it much in the last couple of years because of the shortage/price of the 22 ammo and I seem to be "saving" what I do have.

I think they are an excellent value and I have no complaints at all on the one I have. No . . . it's not a Colt or S & W but they don't cost what those do either and they "get the job done"! Some don't like the safety but it's never been an issue for me at all. If ammo supply and price were better, I'd have no problem buying another one. I've read a number of times where fellows like the 6.5 inch barrel for squirrel hunting which would be a load of fun. You and your family are going to make some fine "memories" with Rough Rider! Enjoy and have fun!

I had one for the kids back in the early 90s. Shot about hundred rounds out of it and it was locked up, felt gritty inside. I took it home and broke it down and for the demrel tool out and polished and buffed out tool marks and metal shavings. Put it back together and it was slicker than snot! Great for the price.

Same gun had a bad chamber. We isolated it and called Heritage. They sent a post paid slip and it was fixed in two weeks. They gave the kids patches and hats with it! Never had such decide from a company that I bought a $95 gun from!

Well it got here yesterday and I am well pleased. It came in to my gunsmith's and we played with it. It was shooting quite a bit low to begin with but we fixed that with a files and some cold blue. It now shoots one hole groups at 20 yards dead on. This thing is just too much FUN!

I have one that I bought a number of years ago. Local dealer said it was stainless, but it had a thin finish on the metal. Most of this finish has come off and it looks a mess. It shoots good with either the 22 lr or mag cilinder. I am considering cerokote or similar..

I bought the one with the 22 Mag cylinder. With the Mags it shoots a bit low and with the 22LR it actually hits pretty close to aim. I know my 5 year old loves that gun. He has claimed it as his own. It's a fun little gun.

As I posted before. This thing is just TOO MUCH FUN! Just playing arround the other day I put 100 rounds through it. I am comfidant that I could hit a tree rat at 25-30 offhand. It shoots like a rifle. The kids are already begging to shoot it but now it is snowing again. (sigh)
