NOE .225-37-FN Anyone else using this mold?

Okay, got an NOE 37g .22 cal. No issues at all with the mold. Rains bullets like every other NOE I have.

Problems with sizing the little buggers is where I am.

Using a 4500 size press and .225 die, my problem is that even when I push them with a flat nose punch I have to use a sacrificial bullet to push the one I am sizing a little deeper (.170 to be precise) in order to get it to pick up lube. It is just too dang short to reach the holes.

Tried using just BLL but it looks like it is leaving them to lopsided in weight as my groups open up over a inch using just it. My thought so far is to turn down a FN nose plug enough to fit inside the size die to push it as far as I need into the size die.

Has anyone else come up with a better plan?

I have the NOE 37 gr. mold. mine is a gas check 5 cavity. I lube and gas check mine in a Lyman 450 with a .228 lube die.The top punch I use is one I bought with the mold from NOE and it goes in to the lube die with out any problem to properly lube the boolit. After lubing I then run the lubed and gas checked boolits thru a Lee .225 size die.

The finished boolit shoot great in my 218 Bee using Bullseye powder for a 22 rim fire duplication load...........Terry

Ah HA! I knew I should have grabbed that when I bought the mold. Neglect on my part. Well now I know better.

My most used top punch is a section of ¼" bolt about an inch long. This would be too large to go into your .225" die, but you could use a piece about 1¼" long and turn down the business end to fit.

Yeah, more or less that was the idea with the flat nose punch. It is aluminum and would be the easy one to turn down. I just did not know if anyone had come up with another way on this little bugger.

Great bullet BTW, in my .22K-Hornet running 3.5g Red-dot it is capable of teeny-tiny groups less than an inch. This is pretty much better than I can shoot but it makes me feel good when I do shoot them that small. 10" T/C barrel and little scope and so cheap to have fun.
