If you make a hinge mechanism at the front of the sliding unit with a top piece of wood that is about the size length as your bottom board, you will be able to put more pressure on the brass to hold it securely while also keeping your hands away from the saw blade. I've done something similar to hold the case holders on my L.E. Wilson case trimmer.

Provided that your cutting the brass off straight there shouldn't be any additional trimming that is needed if your setup correctly. With my chop saw a cut case measures 1.348 deburred on the Hornady case prep trio and when sized has a length of 1.355 which is well within the SAMMI specs of 1.368-.020

I don't mind it being a little long after the saw cut. The finish from the final trim is very clean and square. I'm leaving them about .005" long.

Brilliant! For anyone that has trouble making a nice pocket in the wood to hold the brass- hog it out a little oversize. Put 3 or 4 coats of car wax on a piece of the brass. Put some slow cure epoxy (not a place to use rubbery 5 Minute), Marine-Tex or JB Weld in the pocket and press the brass in. Pop it out when the epoxy is cured and you have a perfect fit.

Nice piece of work flashhole, I like it. I also like David2011's idea, if done well you should be able to trim to length and then simply deburr.
