I just got a notice from CMP as title states. I'll bet they don't last long.

Micah 6:8
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

At $685.00 for service grade.I'm glad I got mine years ago, geeez talk about inflation.

In todays market $685.00 shipped for a CMP service grade is a screaming deal. The prices on carbines and garands are going through the roof and show no signs of slowing. I have so much fun with the carbine I have, I'm not so sure that a guy shouldn't have 2 of them. I'll throw my hat in the ring and see how it works out. Thanks for the heads up William Yanda.
I sent my paperwork in but I expect they will be sold out before it gets there...but you can't win if you don't enter, so to speak.

I took the tour of the facilities at Anniston during the Garand Collector's Convention last September.
At that time, there were still approx 800K Garands in boxes awaiting evaluation, refurbishing (where needed) and transferred to the CMP South and North Stores. Sales have indeed been brisk, but even the current director of operations estimated a supply lasting 18 months at that time. While there is no way to predict what other countries may return the Garands and Carbines in the future from the M.A.P. efforts after WWII, there are likely caches of rifles still out there.
Now is indeed the time to acquire one of these classic and incredibly fun rifles for your collection.
Be warned, however; in 15 years of collecting, I have found that one is not enough.
As for the current price, when has anything remained as cheap as "way back when"?

This is great! Please post as many of these pictures as you can. Thank you.
I was traveling from Texas to North Carolina through there and got a chance to stop by the CMP, got all the way up to the door before I realized they were closed! Ahhhhh!
On every question of construction let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.

... M1 Carbines that is .. not Garands ... sold out first day!!
Cpt03, please forgive me, I must have missed that reference.
There is no reason not to believe that there might be quantity of Carbines that will make it back here someday.
I pray all of them will come home and soon.

Got-R-Did: GREAT pics! Hopefully they don't accidentally open the crate with the Ark in it until AFTER most of the Garands are gone.
