    You meant US 6 east , left on Nv 361 , left on US 95 N ?
    Pahrump is way south .

    Honest mistake.

I see I'm to expect rain next week so I will keep my fingers crossed that it does where we need it and it doesn't where we don't . In the meantime the big flat is looking usable .

I need to get an eyeball guesstimate of those who expect to make dinner so I can hold enough chairs . I'd hate to hold 25 for 10 but more so I'd hate to hold 10 and need 25.

Unless the predicted rain drowns the east side I think the Lovelock Hi way flat is better suited ..... baring the rains .

Sure sounds like fun -- maybe one of these years.

In true casters style I have a couple of very tacky 2nd hand silver cups to put up for the best of 2 best of selections which I haven't decided what to call yet.
    If they were pewter...

This may be a little late but I found a nice alternate site. It is up Indian Lakes Road about 5 miles from the the Fox Peak gas station on the east side of town. It has lots of grassy areas to set up camp and a dry (for now) pond to shoot across and some nice tall berms for backstops.
    [IMG][/IMG]
The grassy berm on far right end of pond lasers 200 yards. the brushy berm on the left side of pic is 400. It is blm land and ok to camp. Don't know how many are coming to change directions this late but it is a nice spot with less dust and mud if it rains. I will be gone tomorrow till wed eve. I will pm with phone number to reach me before then.

I won't be able to check the flat until Friday morning.
Grass as a dirt trap sounds good to me .

I guess we can post detailed directions and post a set at the flat for those that can't or don't check in here .

    Grass is a definite improvement.

Ok here goes. You can get there via Cemetary Rd to Indian Lakes Rd, or from 95 you can take Tarzyn Rd east to Indian Lakes Rd and they join about a mile from the site. I went on Google maps and clicked right at the spot and then made a copy.

    [IMG][/IMG]
Near the bottom is a little window that says 5550-5556 Indian Lakes Rd. If you have the app on a smart phone it should direct you right in from either place. It even gives lat/lons if you want to do it that way. It isn't all too difficult to find. I plan on setting up there in the morning Friday and I have a 3 pm appointment in town. My cell # 775 two one 7 zero 33 one. Call me for help or just to say hi.

Another map showing location of Cemetary Rd. Sometimes called Rio Vista not sure if it is marked correctly by signage but you can't miss it. It is the first paved road going north after you pass Fox Peak Gas and the hospital.

We had a great day of of shooting!

We had an assortment of Winchesters, Krags and Mausers out to play . Little groups , some 260 yd steel took a bit of a beating as well. At 1 point a cow patty whacking contest between a 45 Colts 92' and a 45 ACP High Point carbine. It was a draw. There's some quip about a bad choice of contests in there someplace.

Food for the day started off with bacon ,sausage ,taters and eggs . Lunch was assorted finger foods and fried chicken. Dinner featured boiled and buttered potatoes, garlic bread , fried cabbage and a huge slab of London Broil.

The mosquitoes are out in force here in the twilight so we're hanging out in the campers swilling a cold drink.

I'm.home ,the other shooters are home . We had a good weekend and proved out several rifles for an upcoming road trip and hunt for a couple of shooters.

The pot lunch turned into pizza in town .

The NCBS is the 1st weekend of June and just an hour and a half further. Maybe you'll get the worms corralled by then?
