Lee 230 in 300 black out

Who says these won't shoot. Cast with half ww and half Lino and powder coated and run threw a lee 311 sizer over 8.2 gr of lil gun. Distance 45 yards out of a psa 8.5 inch pistol upper and spitfire scope.

Glad yours worked out. They flew miserable for me. Got rid of the Lee mold and bought an ACE 230 gr mold that did away with that boat tail and am a happy camper.

Have you tried different charges with that powder and bullet? Seems like a really light charge to work an ar action.

I haven't tried the Lee one because I got an ACE mould first. Plain-based variety shoots 1.5 MOA for as far as I care to sling them. NOE is making one off of an identical drawing to the ACE mould now.

Doby, I think those are pasties, the group is the little ragged hole in the middle.

I have been happy with the Lee bullet in 300 blackout as well just tumble lubed and unsized.

Do you happen to know what velocity you're getting with that load?

LOL, I see that now... I have seen so many 44/45cal holes that look exactly like that. I was like "DAMN, those are some clean holes!"

Don't feel bad, I thought they were bullet holes, too.

I bought this mold very early in the production and found it did not shoot very well at ranges of 100 yards or more. At 50 yards the groups were ok but at 100 the holes were oblong.

What twist rate does your barrel have? Mine is a 1 in 7.

Guess it depends on the mold as tends to happen w Lee. A friend of mine handed me a box of the Lee 230gr somebody he knew had cast, hes anti cast so gave them to me. None of them were big enough to even touch a 309 sizer much less a 311. Just melted them down and made something else out of them.

mine are the same way until I powder coat. Adds about .003 to the boolit and now fit well. Good plinking round.
