Help choosing molds for my Glock 19 and 34

I have a G19 Gen 4 and am picking up a G34 Gen 4. I have not had the 19 very long and only shot some factory loads through it. Now I have my reloading stuff for it but also cast my own bullets for my 45s (non Glocks). I will watch the barrels and if they are leading much, I'll switch them out with a KMM probably so I'm not concerned about that yet.

Question is I have read different opinions on the feeding in the Glock 9mm's. As I will have to buy molds I would rather give myself the best chance of success the first time. I like the Lee molds but am not the type of person who has to buy the same thing all the time. I have narrowed it down to 3 choices. TL356-124-2R (micro band, 124 grain, 2 Ogive Radius), TL356-124-TC (micro band, 124 grain, Truncated Cone), or the 356-125-2R (125 grain, 2 Ogive Radius). What do you guys think? These are just for plinking in the yard.

I have read a lot about the SWC not loading well in the Glock 9mm's. Is this really the shape of the bullet? Or can it be fixed by playing with the OAL? I've never done much with Glocks but really like my 19 which is why I just ordered the 34.

Have always shot the 200 grain SWC in my 45s and been happy...almost just hunted up one for these pistols but seems like I'm glad I did some reading first.

Thanks for any advice. And it doesn't have to be one of those bullets.

Search the thread for the elco hollow point bullet. It is made to fit in tight throats and works well if the barrel has a tight throat or not. I shoot it in a Glock 26 and Glock 19 all the time. The Accurate 120 B mold is also very nice. It is a truncated cone that is perfect for feeding or replicating Hornady XTP bullet

The LEE 9mm molds drop to small. At least in my experience. My LEE 125 gr. RN drops acceptable for use. My go-to boo lit is the LEE 125 gr. RF. drops at .358+ depending on alloy. Fine accuracy. As good as my aging eyes can shoot it anyway.

^^^this. My 19 with a lone wolf feeds them just fine and they shoot straighter than I can shoot them.

Switch the Tube to Lone Wolf and you are good to go.

I like the Lee 124gr TL mold. The truncated cone feeds well in my Lone Wolf barrels. I've found them to be very accurate over a load of Bullseye. The 124gr TC are tumble lubed with 50/50 ALOX/mineral spirits.

I don't even bother trying to get boolits to work in the factory Glock barrel. I'm sure it can be done; but you need to have the right factors come together just so for it to work. The factory barrels are very happy with plated and FMJ. I feed it what it likes.

I have the Lee 356-125-2R which I feel was modeled after the Lyman 356242. I use the same load data for both and they shoot identically. While this bullet shoots very well out of my Glock using both the factory and the Lone wolf barrels. I wish I had bought a mold that cast a truncated cone bullet. I size mine to .358 and haven't had any problems, I would just like to be able to seat my boolit's out a little more and load them hotter.

Don't have a Glock, but I have 4 other 9mms of disparate sorts that like the Lee TL356-124-TC. That's what I'm going to start my new .38 Super on.

I have all 3 of the Lee molds asked about. I use straight wheel weight alloy, water dropped and lubed with 45/45/10. I load them as cast and shoot them in. Gen4 Glock 19. They all 3 shoot great with no leading or feed issues. I shot in the stock barrel fine and decided to get the KKM barrel for better case support and because the Glock will see almost nothing but cast from now forward.

good luck , I hope your experience turns out better than mine did . I just dumped a g19 and a g43 I couldn't get anything to shoot well from either . I tried the lee 124 gr rn ,lee 120 gr tc and lee 124 gr tc . tried them sized at .356,357 and 358 powdercoated and non powder coated .lone wolf in the g 19 or stock barrel my groups were bad at 10 yrds and non existent at 25 yrds I'm not saying yours or anyone elses experience will be like mine but me and glocks just don't work well together . the same ammo that I could hardly hit anything with from a glocks shot great from my m&p 9 full sized and my xd compact. I ended up trading the g 19 straight up for an m&p 9 compact and traded the g 43 in on a new m&p shield 9mm .I'm a much happier camper now .
