    Slow twist .308 barrel?

I'm looking for a slow twist (eg: 14 or 16 twist, #2 or #3 profile) .308 barrel for yet another odd project. I know Krieger has them, but I was hoping to find a less-expensive take-off, such as from a benchrest rifle. I thought the Benchrest Central and 6mmBR sites would be good places to look, but there was nothing advertised.

Are there any other good places I should be looking?

    Thank you,
    Richard

You are looking in the right place for a used barrel. Have you made a post that you are looking for a particular barrel? Many don't advertise old barrels. If you can live with a slower yet barrel, 17 or 18, you will definitely find one.

Thank you! I think I did leave a WTB on one of the boards. I'll doublecheck and leave one on the other board, too.

Richard, I think accurateshooter (6mmbr) gets more sales than the BRC sales. For one, the market forums are on the same page as others on accurateshooter. Score shooters change out barrels fairly often and anyone would take a modest fee for a barrel they aren't going to use again.

Shilen makes a 1:15, and their blanks are very reasonably priced.

I'd never heard of them before. Just checked it out, those are certainly priced right but they don't go any slower than 1:12 in 30 cal. I'll have to look into them a bit more, thanks for the mention!

I hope X Caliber give good service. As I pointed them out to a fellow here looking for a 30 caliber AR-15. I stated I'd never done business with them. Just saw them on the internet. What impressed me is you can order slow twist AR-15 barrels in many calibers. Like 14 twist 223's or 6mm's.

Thank you for the additional suggestions. Shall check them.

    Cheers,
    Richard
