3/64's (.046) ?? that's mighty small for a 3" long hole, you sure of the diameter ?

7/8-14 screams die's ... if so , bolts and all thread are a poor choice along with mild steel .
depending on your needs , if you wanted to pay the freight i can thread a couple pieces of 01 and drill the pilot hole as deep as the drills i have on hand allow (1.5")

My cousin and I are going to make a couple of point dies or should say going to try to make.
In that case, you could consider counter drillling a larger size from the top and making your ejector pin of two diameters, for strength. Your small bore hole need be only the length of a bullet plus, say, a quarter inch.
You dies makers chime in here, see if I make sense.
