    TC Barrels

How many barrels are too many given the state of TC with S&W?

Don't know, I have four I can remember and likely won't get more. Just make sure you're stocked up on hammer springs and you'll be good to go for a long time.

I this may be blasphemy but I hate changing from rifle to handgun. So my next version has to be a dedicated rifle. I have the handgun. What I like is the selection from custom builders so I highly doubt you have to worry about them disappearing.

I have one Contender and two Encores registered as pistols. The Encores have been set up as rifles, and I am going to get another one and set it up as a pistol.

I thinned the herd a few years ago and am down to 3 G-1 pistol frames with a 22 mag, 22 Hornet, 7TCU , 44 mag and 45/410. Should have held on to them as the barrels have increased in price. The encore herd is doing well and growing. Although I really should have a G-2 now that Ed's has them again and I really miss my 223 .

I have 2 Contender frames with 9 barrels all pistols. I also have 3 Encore frames with 8 barrels all rifles.I have about all the barrels that I need unless I run into a good deal on a 45-70 barrel for the Encore when I have money in my pocket..............Terry

I have tc bbl's for every pistol caliber I load except for 44spl along with 10" match 22lr bbl for standing silhouettes.

    [IMG][/IMG]

I also use a contender to practice for the free pistol.

The extra weight the the extremely heavy 14 ounce trigger on the contender makes it an excellent choice to practice with.

Bbl's are only part of the tc world. Grips, setups, uses of the tc's are only limited by their owners thoughts, ideas, limitations.

I'm down to six barrels and two G-1 frames. I need to get a 357 octagon when I can find one at a good price.

Check out post #14 and see what I did with my Encore with a 7mmBR barrel, and I have another one with a collapsible stock from a M-4.

Doc that is a nice setup.

    Here is what I have for my Encore;

    30-06 Rifle blue
45-70 Rifle Stainless (love this barrel)
457 GNR 17" with brake stainless.
    50 caliber Muzzle loader.

    Handgun Barrel
    475 Linebaugh barrel Blue
    7mm-08 Blue

Not really enamoured with the 30-06 might sell that one to get another big bore.

My favorite barrels are the 45-70 and 457 GNR both are very accurate.

I just got another mold for my .458 it is hammer of bullet. 460 grains with lube and gas check WFN.

The stocks I installed on my Encore's are also available for the Contender and the G2.

This is the grip that Choate makes, called the M4 Pistol Grip.
    http://www.riflestock.com/store/do/product/PGS/09-03-14

You will need the buffer tube for a A2 fixed length with the PRS butt stock like the upper gun.
This is the butt stock I have on the upper rifle in the picture.
    https://www.magpul.com/products/prs-...stock-ar15-m16

For the short rifle I installed the same Choate M4 Pistol grip but instead of a short buffer tube for a M4 I installed a KYNSHOT hydraulic shotgun buffer that can reduce the recoil up to 80%. I have a 12 gauge fully rifled shotgun barrel from the custom shop that fits on this frame also which is why I installed it.
    http://www.nokick.com/KynShot_Hydrau...kyn-rb5100.htm

You will need the castle nut to hold this to the Choate M4 Pistol Grip.

This is the collapsible Magpul stock that is on the short rifle.

This is the Cheek Riser that I installed on the ctr stock it is the .75 height.
    https://www.magpul.com/products/ctr-moe-075-cheek-riser

    It comes in 3 heights .25, .5, and .75

I'm down to three barrels 357 max, 44 mag and a 22lr. had a 357 mag, 45-70 and a 22 hornet, the one I wish I had not sold was the hornet, it was a tack driver.

I would gladly trade my 30-06 Encore rifle barrel for a 44 mag barrel.
