I have seen the light !
This was my first Mihec mold.. so far in my short casting experience Iīve used Lee.. Well that is a period that ended abruptly!
This was also my first brass mold experience.. took me about two or three pours to get the feeling for the temp of the mold and melt..
But then! Gosh, they just didnīt stop dropping out of the mold as perfect boolits.. and by dropping I mean dropping.. no hangups, no tapping on the mold.. just dropped!
The mold is a absolute beauty to cast with.. yeah a bit heavier than the alu molds Iīve used to.. but otherwise.. just wow! Me happy!
Can't wait for mine to show up. Unfortunately my postal service area stinks to high heaven.

Still waiting for my PayPal notice.

Whistler, that's the 135 grn version right? Have you taken a caliper to see how long they are?
Looks great. I can't wait till mine finally shows. Wish I had a tracking number though because my post office stinks at delivering things.

From Slovenia to germany it tooks 2 days, Miha sent it on 25.Jan.16 (postal stemp). To the US you have to wait longer
The drawing in the first post says .608 long.
The 135 gn version is .605" long after coating.
The sprue cut looks like this, it is virtually non-existent.
I am a bit disappointed, I was hoping this bullet would let me headspace on the bullet like the H&G #68 in my .45 ACP, but I would need 1.200" OAL for that with the bullet sized .357.
As it is now I seated to 1.140 (not 1.040 like the CZ owners in the thread) to avoid the bullet being swaged down by the case and so that it clears both single and double stack magazines for my 1911/2011 platforms.
Shoot from a rest at 25/50/100 yards, then post your groupings. That is the only way to compare accuracy results.
Sometimes it is an advantage to live in Europe so I got my mold very fast and today I had my second casting session with it.
Nothing but agree with Swede 45, after some time on hot plate it immediately start pouring nice boolets and after 2hrs I quit, and prepared previous batch for PC.
What can I say, it is not my first MiHec brass mold (have few HP versions) and for sure not last one. Thinking to buy a new gun just to justify new mold to cast for it
You have to see how casting can be smooth with this mold to believe it. Right lead temp, hot plate and good rhythm and they just drop out....

Thanks Whistler. I thought the 135 might be a little longer. For CZs it looks good. Seems like perhaps a 929 clone might be better for your 1911s?http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...CO-929-for-9mm
Id jump onto a group buy for those.
I'll be happy if they work in a mr bullet feeder. Anyone given that a test?
How would I know if my mold has been shipped? I did get the PayPal notice, and made payment the same day?
Thanks Mihec! I cannot for that rather heavy, yet small package to arrive!
Mihec,
I saw the thread when these went up for sale. My first mold is a cheap aluminum mold, and I've about worn it out (mostly because of my inexperience using it correctly when I started). I definitely got my money's worth out of it, but I'm convinced I'd like to get something like this soon to replace it. How often do you do runs of molds like this? Thanks!
