    1st Annual Eastern National Match

Yes, you read that right. In conversations with the competitive shooting division of the NRA, we decided that it would be a good idea to hold Western Nationals at Raton and Eastern Nationals at Ridgway. That creates the possibility of an additional match in 2017 and beyond, the East Meets West Championship. Stay tuned for details.
Feel free to contact me any time if you have questions or suggestions. See you at Ridgway!

    Sincerely,
    Craig Duncan

    2016 Match Info
Dear Craig,Winter is drawing to a close and the shooting season will soon be upon us. 2016 promises to be an exciting year for the Black Powder Cartridge Sports!

As many of you are aware, Jim Kidwell has stepped up to the plate and will be in charge of the Western Nationals this year. Kudos to you Jim! It's great to see the NRA giving control and support of our matches back to the competitors.
    Eastern National BPCR Championship
Which brings us to the brand new Eastern BPCR Silhouette Nationals to be held at Ridgway on September 22-25. This will be an NRA registered match # 2016138667. The first two days will be Iron Sights, with Scope following on Saturday and Sunday. Here is the complete 2016 Ridgway Match Schedule.

Early Registration until July 31, 2016
Early registration for the Eastern National is now open! Match fees are $50 per day per rifle. Fees will go up on August 1, so register soon! Just print and mail this Early Registration Form.

If you can't access the form, give me a shout and I'll mail it to you. Forms will also be available at our monthly matches.
    Additional Information
The range will be open for practice on the Tuesday and Wednesday preceding the match. Be aware that we will have to share the range with any club members that wish to shoot during practice days, but it'll give us a chance to convert them! A BBQ is planned for Saturday night and is included in the match fee. If you have a favorite recipe, bring it along and share it with others.

The awards ceremony will be held Sunday afternoon, after all the smoke has cleared and we've tallied the results. Winners will be awarded medals, certificates, and pins. We're lining up some exciting prizes! All prizes will be awarded via a lottery system. So no matter how you shoot, if your name is drawn you could win primers, brass, gunpowder, a rifle, and more!

    April 2016

In three short weeks it will be the start of the 2016 BPCR Silhouette season at the Ridgway Rifle Club. Come join us for the 40-shot match on April 24. Carolyn and I are looking forward to getting back down there, seeing old friends, meeting new friends, and hopefully tipping over some steel while we're at it.

2016 promises to be an exciting year. We'll be welcoming a few new competitors to the sport and welcoming back some who've not shot at Ridgway for a few years. With the club's help, we'll be making available 4 points in the center of the firing line for shooting from the seated position. We hope to have that done by May - stay tuned. I'll be doing some work at the 500 meter rams, to make it easier to see where one bank ends and the next starts. The chicken swingers will be attended to as well.

For those unfamiliar with the club, there is a fully equipped loading bench in the High Power club house. The range is always open for practice at least one day before the match, two if we get there soon enough. If you arrive early and bring your own components, you can do load testing at the range. There will be folks there willing to give you advice on what works and what doesn't. Try your ideas under actual range conditions! I'll have a Magnetospeed V-3 chronograph available. I'll also bring along my Hawkeye bore scope if you wish to check your cleaning regime. Practice is fun!

    Thoughts about the Eastern Nationals
I'm happy to have been given the opportunity by both the NRA and the Ridgway Rifle Club to host an event like the Eastern Nationals. I took a ride down to Ridgway the beginning of February as I wanted to attend the monthly club meeting. We spent some time talking about the Eastern National taking place in September. I'm pleased to say that the club is fully on board with the idea and willing to work to make it a great event for everyone involved.

Increasing interest and attendance in the Black Powder Silhouette sport has always been near and dear to my heart. When Carolyn and I first volunteered to be Match Directors it was to preserve the sport at Ridgway. For without a match director there would be no matches.

Our first year was a bit intimidating, much like opening a small business. We got through it with help from the folks shooting there. We made mistakes, we learned and we listened to the competitors. One of the things I kept hearing was how nice it would be to hold a National event at Ridgway. It made me chuckle to think about it, as we were mainly worried about making it through the season without dropping the ball too badly.

This news letter was Carolyn's idea, as was the survey we sent out early last year. We feel it's important to keep in touch with folks interested in shooting the matches at Ridgway. We made other changes such as drawing names for the prizes awarded. That idea came from a Master Class competitor and it was a great idea. We award a $25 Midway gift certificate to the most improved shooter at every match. For the National match, CPA rifles is building a 22 silhouette rifle. We'll have our other sponsors as well.

This match in September is very much a work in progress. It's new and different and "not the way things have always been done." I don't believe in copying failure and expecting success. Once it became my responsibility to run matches I decided I wasn't buying into that mindset. It's a self-fulfilling circle.

For as long as I can remember, most of what I've read in printed editorials and on various internet forums has been all doom and gloom about the decline and death of the sport we all love. I feel that taking the same amount of energy expended in tearing things down with negativity can be better utilized building things up.

    See you at Ridgway!

    Sincerely,
    Craig Duncan

Congratulations to Brian Chilson, winner of the BPCR match at Ridgway PA with a score of 31. Dave Heeter took Second Open with a 26, and Greg Lauver placed Third Open with a 25. In Scope, Brian Chilson shot 37 to earn First Scope, followed by Ken White with a 29 and John Haagen with 26. Brian Chilson shot a long run of 12 chickens with a scope, beating his own national record of 11 for Open and setting a new record for Senior. Also of note, Ken was using a 45-70 shooting swaged paper-patched bullets of his own design. Great shooting, guys! Complete results are below.

Turnout was higher than in the past several years, with 29 rifles and 26 shooters. We were extremely pleased to welcome not one but four new shooters - John S., Brian W., Dave P., and Charlie Z. Congratulations on taking the plunge!

It was a beautiful spring day, with cloudy skies giving way to sunshine and temps in the 60s. Winds were calm in the morning and light in the afternoon, leaving mirage as the main challenge.

Our next match is May 29, which is Memorial Day weekend. Hope to see you at Ridgway!

    Hello Folks

It's hard to believe we're at the end of May already. Time sure flies! Our second shoot of the season will take place on Sunday the 29th. What better way to celebrate Memorial Day?

    Range Improvements
This month we're making some improvements out on the Ram line to make it easier to see where one bank of animals ends and the next one starts. There'll be a six foot high 2X6, painted bright red, between each bank and also behind each support for the swingers. We'll also be painting all the rest of the swinger supports bright red as well.

At the firing line, there will be at least two positions available without the cross rail for those who wish to shoot from the seated position. I'll have the materials to make four but will have to see if I have the time.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we honor and remember those who gave their lives in defending the freedoms we enjoy to this day.

Brian Chilson is this month's BPCR match winner at Ridgway PA with a score of 32. Greg Lauver took Second Open with a 27, followed by Dan Vivian with a 25. In Scope, Brian Chilson shot 35 to earn First Scope, followed by Kenny White and John Haagen with scores of 29 and 27, respectively. Great shooting, guys! Complete results are below.

We enjoyed a warm spring day, with a mix of clouds and sunshine. There was very little wind and minimal mirage. It was a great day to be out with old friends and new. We had a strong turnout again this month, with 28 competitors shooting a total of 31 rifles, and we were pleased to welcome three new shooters and two juniors.

Putting on a match is a lot of work. Thanks to all the unsung heroes who pitch in and help with painting and setting targets, range work, relay calling, cleaning, emptying garbage, paperwork, etc. We couldn't do it without you.

Our next match is the PA State Championship on June 25-26. You do not need to be a PA resident to compete. Each day is a 60-shot format, so start loading your ammo now!

    Sincerely,

    Craig Duncan

Let me apologize for taking so long to get the results of the PA State Shoot out to everyone. Life got busy for me once we got back to NH.

Congratulations to Brian Chilson on winning the PA State Championship for BPCR Silhouette at Ridgway PA! This was a 2-day match with a 60-shot format, and Brian's aggregate score of 103 set a national Senior record. Please note that these results are provisional depending on confirmation by the NRA. 2nd Open was earned by Bob Bloyer with a 90, and Dave Heeter took 3rd Open with an 83. Complete results are below.

At the end of the 2nd day there were 2 tie scores. In Master Class, John Whitcomb and Dave Heeter had a shoot off on chickens to decide the winner. Dave won the honors!
In the AA Class, John Estok and Larry Kiehl shot turkeys, and shot turkeys and shot more turkeys until 13 or so birds had fallen. Then Larry suddenly put one in the dirt in front of the birds. Did you really miss that shot Larry or were you just tired of shooting?

We had a total of 24 shooters for the 2-day event. We had 2 new shooters, Evan Short and Al Aubin. Hope you guys had a good time!

The weather was in the lower 80s, mostly sunny with occasional clouds and light winds. It sure was better than last year! Mirage was variable, and fairly easy to read. All in all, pleasant shooting conditions.

Due to the 2016 Ohio Valley Regional, we had a lower turnout than normal, and needed only 2 relays per day to complete the match. Our target setter were quick and efficient as always.

Thank you to our match sponsors:
    • Swiss Powder
    • Brownell's
    • Wolfe Publishing
    • Starline Brass

    • SPG Products
    • Green Mountain Barrels
    • Brooks Moulds
    • Circle Fly Wads
    • Walters Wads
    • And others for personal donations

Thank you to all the folks who helped us run a successful match - we couldn't do it without your help. In no particular order: John Estok for relay calling, Debbie Chilson for post-match paperwork, Greg and Darlene Lauver, Larry Kiehl and others for target setting/painting. Lester Henry, Rodney Barton and others helped with the post match clean-up.

Our next match is a 40 shot match July 24th. With several regular competitors headed to Raton NM for the Western National match, it's a good opportunity to enjoy a day of play on Saturday and shoot a relaxed club match on Sunday. I plan on wringing out a couple of antique Mil-Surp rifles on Saturday. See you at Ridgway!

    Hello Folks,

Due to some combination of luck, skill, and a few of our top competitors being out at Raton, this month's match winner is... yours truly, with a 30. Dave Heeter earned 2nd Open with a 29, and Dan Vivian took 3rd Open with a 27. In Scope, Roger Tremba shot a superb 31, and Mark Chronister earned 2nd Scope with a 29. In other noteworthy accomplishments, we had 2 upclassifications: John Sweka's B-to-AA leapfrog and mine to AAA. Grant Rogers had a ram grand slam - doesn't that just roll off the tongue? Congratulations, guys! It's good to see several new/returning shooters climbing back up the learning curve, and there were some new observers as well. Complete results are below.

It was a beautiful, hot summer day. The morning started cool and calm, with periods of light winds and/or cloud cover as temperatures climbed into the high 80s. Mirage was varied and light to medium. Without our usual Iron Man competitors in attendance, we had just 2 relays. In August we will have 3 relays to accommodate Iron Man shooters and for the anticipated greater attendance in preparation for the Eastern Nationals in September.

Thank you to Craig Artman for relay calling, and to Donna Vivian and Bonnie Artman for help with the post-match paperwork. Thanks to Mark Chronister and Mike Benson for help setting and painting targets with us before the match. Folks may not realize it, but range work is done by us shooters before each match, and we are deeply grateful to anyone who can come early and volunteer their help. Thank you to the Ridgway Rifle Club for their personal support - several people stopped by - and providing such an awesome place to shoot.

For those who have signed up for the Eastern Nationals, information will be forthcoming in the coming weeks.
    Sincerely,

    Craig Duncan

It is better in person than any pictures. I have been up there a couple times as a guest for informal plinking. Shame it is a 2 hour ride from home, or I would be there very often.

When you roll up to the firing line in your truck, and look out to the right for the first time(downrange), you can hear angels sing as you survey the targets.

    Cool

    You felt that Rich.

The same thing happened to my wife and I the first time we saw the place.
Then we got down on the ground and started shooting rifles, BPCR rifles.

There are many different shooting disciplines at Ridgway. BPCR is our personal poision.
Ridgway is a club owned and operated by firearms enthusiasts.
Member dues and shoots are what pays the bills there, that and sweat equity.

Folks show up for the matches there and lend a hand to make it a better experience for everyone involved.
As it should be for any venue in the shooting sports.
After all, as marksmen, we want to make sure we don't get caught up in the "entitlement society".

    I love shooting at Ridgway.
My wife and I have a bit of a haul getting there, but it's time we spend together.
We've made many friends there and made friends in our travels to there.
PA has license plates that state " You have a Friend in Pennsylvania"
PA also has plates that state " First in Freedom"

Ours just say " Live Free or Die"
And, FYI, it's against state law to cover that up.

    See you at Ridgway,

    Craig

    BPCR Eastern Nationals Update
    August 2016

First of all, a big thanks to Jim Kidwell, Steve Rhoads, and all the others who made the 2016 Western Nationals such a resounding success!

The 2016 Eastern BPCR Silhouette Nationals will take place at the Ridgway Rifle Club in Ridgway PA. Dates are Thursday September 22nd through Sunday the 25th. The iron sights competition will be held Thursday-Friday, followed by the scope competition Saturday-Sunday. Each day will be 60 shots for score, so bring plenty of ammo.

    About the Match
To answer some questions we've been getting, there will be 3 relays. Shooters/spotters will sign up in squads of 2 or 3, and banks and animals will be assigned by drawing names. With the expanded number of positions and 10 banks of animals, we expect that it will be feasible for people to "dig in" and not have to schlep equipment to and from the line. There are a limited number of spots for shooting from a seated position, so please let me know in advance if you need one.

Carolyn and I are going to keep registration open at least until the end of August. We're still waiting to hear from some folks who wish to attend. We could also still use some help in the form of score keepers, line officers, and folks to help Carolyn with post-match administrivia.

    Fun Stuff
Trophies and medals have arrived! We have trophies for First, Second and Third place in Iron Sights, Scope Sights and Iron Man. We also have Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for all classes. (Scope is still considered a single class.)

Some folks are only shooting Irons or Scope, so we've decided to have a BBQ / Shindig on Friday night. That will allow all the competitors and families to get together for an evening of camaraderie and swapping excuses. Food and drink will be provided by the club.

Friday night we'll award trophies and medals for Iron Sights and also hold a prize drawing for the loot that was so generously donated by our sponsors. That way everyone will have a chance to go home with something good.

The weather should be beautiful in late September, typically warm days in the 70's with cool nights. The trees will be turning and adding their color to the beauty of the area. There's always the chance of fog in the morning, but in five years we've never seen it fail to burn off in time for 8AM practice.

We're excited about the Eastern Nationals. It should be fun and exciting and, we hope, the start of something good!

Please feel free to call or email with any questions or concerns you may have.

    See you at Ridgway!

    Sincerely,
    Craig Duncan

I'd like to make an up-date to the information I posted.

This September there will be classes for scope as well as Iron sights.
The classes will be standard NRA classes, Master, AAA, AA, A and B.
We'll be awarding trophies to the top 3 High Aggregate shooters in Iron, Scope and Iron man.
We'll be awarding Gold. Silver and Bronze medals to the top 3 shooters in each class, for both for Iron sights and Scope.

It's something that folks have been talking about, why scope shooters are lumped into one class so to speak.
We have the medals so I figured why not "run it up the flagpole and see who salutes"
All the medals will be engraved as well.

Also, match fee's will not be raised because 07/31/16 has passed.
I feel a bit neglectful about having not communicated information about this match sooner and more often.
We all have responsibilities and passions.
BPCR Silhouette is a passion of mine.
But sometimes responsibilities take a precedent, this year for me, they did.

Feel free to call or write with any questions or concerns you may have.

It's a 40 shot match this month, and we will be running 3 relays. As usual, the range will be available for practice on Saturday the 27th.

    Scope Classes
At our past matches, there's been some discussion about classing Scope shooters instead of just having 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall. While the NRA has not officially made this change, informal awards can be made at the match director's discretion, and we're going to start doing so to provide more recognition for scope shooters' efforts. As we do with iron sights, there will be a minimum of 2 competitors in a class to award 1st place, 5 competitors to award 2nd, and 8 for 3rd. If you're the only one in your class, you'll be placed with the next highest class. Please ensure that your books reflect your current classification.

    More Range Improvements
I've got poles made to have new wind flags for each berm. These will be easily visible and won't become furled around the poles. If you're able to get there on Friday to help us set them up, it'd be much appreciated.

    Eastern Nationals
We're still accepting registrations for the Eastern National match September 22-25. I'll have plenty of forms available.

    Match-Day Info
    7:00-8:45 Registration
    8:00-8:45 Sight-in
    8:45 Mandatory shooters meeting
    9:00 Match starts

Shoot is open to NRA and non-NRA members. Current NRA silhouette rules apply. 2016 NRA Silhouette Classification book required and may be purchased at the match. Entry fee of $25 per day (Junior Shooters $10).

See www.ridgwayrifleclub.com for lodging options. FYI, the Summit Lodge/Bar &Grill has changed hands - Google it and check out the reviews. As usual, there's cot camping available at both clubhouses, and showers at the main club house. Primitive camping (limited electric, no water/sewer) is available at the range.

    See you at Ridgway!

    Sincerely,
    Craig Duncan

    August 2016 BPCR Match Results

Congratulations to Brian Chilson, winner of the August 2016 BPCR match at Ridgway PA with a score of 31. Dave Heeter earned 2nd Open with a 29, and John Sweka was 3rd Open with a 25. Notably, this is John's first year of shooting BPCR, with his father's new CPA.

In Scope, Brian was also 1st with a 34, followed by 2nd Scope John Haagen with a 32 and 3rd Scope Kenny White with a 28. Take note: Kenny was breech-seating paper-patched bullets. Mark Chronister tied with Kenny but they decided to determine the winner via coin toss. Great shooting, guys! Carolyn Snyder also had a good day, upclassifying to AA and earning a turkey grand slam. Complete results are below.

Conditions were calm and partly cloudy in the morning, giving way to sunshine as temperatures rose into the mid-80s with high humidity, and then clouded over again near the match's end. Mirage and wind were less than we sometimes encounter at Ridgway, but varying from one shot to the next along with the light.

We had a total of 24 competitors shooting 26 rifles, up from 19 and 20 in August 2015. We continue to welcome new and returning shooters, and will find you a spotter if you need one!

You'll notice that the standings below include a 1st AAA Scope and 1st AA Scope. These are new. The NRA does not recognize classifications within BPCR Scope, but for our regular monthly matches we can offer non-official awards, and anyone can sponsor a prize. (The "Most Improved Shooter" prize, sponsored by Carolyn Snyder and including a $25 Midway USA gift certificate, is one such example. John Sweka won it this month.) By recognizing the efforts of both new and long-time shooters, we hope to encourage participation in BPCR shooting. Note that for the Eastern Nationals, only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Scope place trophies will be awarded. Certificates will be awarded for other Scope classifications.

And on that note, the first Eastern National BPCR match is next month, Sept 22-25. Due to folks finding/making time in their busy schedules to attend this event, we will keep registration open as long as possible, but we need to have a fairly accurate estimate of attendees for squadding and food purchases for the Friday night BBQ. We may be able to accept event-day registrations, but a phone call or email ahead of time would be greatly appreciated. For folks bringing a guest, we want to feed them too, so please let us know. This should be an exciting and fun-filled time for all. Ridgway Rifle Club offers the largest Silhouette range east of the Mississippi. You won't be disappointed!
    Sincerely,

    BPCR Eastern Nationals Update
    September 2016

We're ready - are you? Have your ammo loaded? The 2016 Eastern National is right around the corner! Carolyn and I will be leaving NH next Sunday and should be at Ridgway by noon on Monday. Monday-Wednesday, the range will be available for practice whenever we aren't doing range work. And the more help we get, the more the range will be available.

    Match Info

We'll be weighing rifles and checking cross sticks.
We're going to be picking names from a jar each day for which bank of animals you'll shoot. We'll run 3 relays. Folks that want to shoot together can sign up as a squad of 2 or 3. If you're solo, we'll find you a squad to join. Decide among your squad which relay you'll shoot.
We'll be able to "dig in" each day, but plan on moving to a different bank the next day.
We'd prefer to have scoring done by designated scorers. The NRA isn't giving us any manpower, so we could use some volunteers. If we don't have enough scorers, your spotter will keep your score. Both the shooter and scorer will sign off on each animal shot.
    Camping
If you're planning to camp in an RV, bring a long electrical cord. But the circuit breakers trip easily - it's a rifle range, not a campground - so plan to avoid using a/c, microwaves, or other devices that draw heavy current. Wouldn't hurt to bring a generator if you have one. I'll bring a 3K unit that will support a couple RVs. Potable water is available, but there is no dump station.

    Fun Stuff
Ridgway is a 1000-yard silhouette range. After the official shooting is over for the day, we like to play. We welcome different types of rifles, so bring your Mil-Surps, antiques, black guns, bench guns, etc. We can tip over crows, groundhogs, bobcats and coyotes at distances from 850 to 1000 yards. There's also Homer. He's a 1/2 scale buffalo out at 980 yards. The range stays open until the sun goes down.

Last but not least, don't forget the BBQ on Friday evening. The club is providing food and beverages at the main club house. There are rumors that special commemorative adult beverages will be available. And that's when we'll have the drawings for prizes, including a very beautiful 22LR-caliber rifle made especially for us by CPA Rifles.

    See you soon!

    Sincerely,
    Craig Duncan

    2016 Eastern National BPCR Results

The 2016 Eastern Nationals is in the books! Congratulations to Brian Chilson, winner of each day's match as well as the overall Iron Man. We had a total of 52 rifles on the line over the course of four days, 31 shooting Iron sights and 23 shooting scope. Not everyone shot both days hence the number of 52.

The weather was outstanding with warm days and cool nights. The temperature swings did make for some interesting conditions with mirage being the main culprit. The conditions are easily seen in the aggregate scores - Iron sight scores on Thursday and Friday were higher than scope on Saturday and Sunday. There were many 15 pins awarded, though none for chickens. (Brian came close on Thursday with 12.) See the complete results below.

    Shoot-offs
With so many talented competitors, shoot-offs were inevitable. And we had many! Unless otherwise noted, everyone shot chickens to determine the winners, indicated in bold below.

    Thursday (Iron sights)
John Bly and Jim Dietlein with 49s for 3rd Open
Jim Radcliffe and Greg Vest with 41s for 3rd Master

    Friday (Iron sights)
John Bly and Greg Lauver for 2nd AAA
Bob Clipp and Larry Kiehl with 31s for 2nd AA

    Aggregate Iron Sights
John Bly, Jim Dietlein, and Kenny White with 89s for 3rd Open
Vince D'Allessandro and Larry Kiehl with 64s for 1st AA

    Saturday (Scope)
Steve Decker, Ken Pointer, and Kenny White with 40s for 2nd Master
Ernie Bennett and Glenn Davis with 41s for 1st AAA

    Sunday (Scope)
Marshall Chase and Mark Chronister with 44s for 2nd Open*
Brad Ryan and Kenny White with 43s for 1st Master

*Marshall and Mark shot chickens starting with 5 animals in 7 minutes. They both hit 1 and moved to sudden death - 1 animal in 1 minute - and both shot 1. So they did it again. Marshall came out on top.

    Aggregate Scope
Rodney Barton and Glenn Davis had 75s for 2nd AAA, settled by coin toss.

Great shooting, everyone! Again, see below for complete results.

    Prizes and Sponsors
After Friday's match, we were off to the BBQ and prize drawing. The club put on a great meal with chicken, fixings and free beer. The prize table was well stocked and folks all got several cracks at it. (We award all prizes by drawing names.) In a separate drawing, Tim Gifford, AKA "Mr. Lucky" had his name drawn to win a 22 Silhouette rifle courtesy of CPA Rifles. Thank you to Gail and Paul Shuttleworth for your generosity!

Thanks to our other sponsors. In no particular order:
Swiss Power for the powder, coffee mugs and other items
Wolfe Publishing for the books and magazines
Brownells for the hearing protection and 22 ammo
SPG for the gift certificates and posters
Starline Brass for the gift certificates
Green Mountain Barrels for the gift certificates
MVA sights for the gift certificate
    Circle Fly Wads
    Walters Wads
Boomers Moulds for the gift certificate
Steve Brooks Moulds for the gift certificate
Distant Thunder for the sight inserts
    BPCN for the subscriptions
    603 Brewery for the beer
And a friend here in NH for the antique powder tins and reloading equipment
    Special Guests
We usually have spectators at our matches and this month was no exception. My back-of-the-napkin calculations put the number at 46. Most of the folks coming to watch are interested in getting started in BPCR Silhouette. I work hard to get them back and shooting.

On Saturday, we had 3 guys from the PA school of gunsmithing. They ended up staying for the day so they could try our rifles first hand. Many thanks to all who offered their advice, knowledge and experience - I'm sure they won't forget it.

Last but not least, Representative GT Thompson from the PA 5th. Congressional district stopped by on Sunday to try his hand at BPCR Silhouette. GT is a strong advocate for our 2nd amendment rights.

    Thank-Yous
I'd like to thank the Ridgway Rifle Club for all their help in hosting the event, and volunteers who devoted their time to make the event a success, and the NRA for sending Greg Connor up to help us in keeping it official.

2016 seemed to be a great year for our sport thanks to the efforts of Match directors nation wide. 2017's going to be better!
    Sincerely,

    Craig Duncan

    Ridgway BPCR Newsletter
    October 2016

We'll be capping off the 2016 season the 30th of October at the Ridgway Rifle Club!
This month's match will be a standard 40-shot match. Attendance at the October match is typically light due to hunting season, so we will probably run just two relays.

The last shoot of the year is always a bittersweet event for us. It's sad to see the season end and know we won't see our friends and fellow competitors again until spring. But we can look back on all the great times and good (or not so good) shooting we did.

We'll be staying at the Royal Inn this month as we've had a few cold nights here in NH and our camper is winterized. Camping is still available at the range, however.
    Match-Day Info

    7:00-8:45 Registration
    8:00-8:45 Sight-in

We'll provide coffee and donuts, and the club house has potable water. Bring your lunch.

We hope to see you there!
