I don't know if this applies to a semi auto but I am using this boolit in my 22 Hornet, .222, and .223 (single shot). In my Hornet it recently put a six shot group inside of a half dollar at 100 yards (.6 group) an an MV of 1900 fps. The flat nose most makes a delightful slap sound on a coyote at 150 yards. In my .222 T/C Contender 10" barrel I downloaded it to 1350 FPS and it is still very accurate and a joy to shoot in the field without ear protection (as long as you don't shoot it much). It probably won't cycle your action at velocities below 2400 FPS where that boolit has been most happy in my guns.

I've been looking for an affordable cast mold in this style. It will cycle in an AR at 1850 fps as long as it feeds, the nose looks good for that. If not I know it will shoot in My Savage bolt gun. Heck if I get 1-1.5" at 100 yards i'll be happy!! My current NOE 55 gr mold is of the round nose design. Fairly accurate in my ARs and bolt gun. Nothng great make s a good plinker.

That looks interesting. Please keep us informed on how it shoots.

Got out today an shot some of these bullets. They come out of the mold with my alloy GC'd at 56.5-57.5 grs . Been cold here so getting good wrinkle free bullets been hard. But I got a few expectable bullets. They shot fair in my Savage hunter about 2" at 100 yards. With better bullets I see 1-1.5" Now for the AR I changed my normal powder from IMR4895 to IMR3031 so this was the first time with cast. Load was 18.7 gr which with IMR4895 gets me full function and about 1900fps. I didn't chrony this load today! To cold to mess with it. Loaded one round to see if it would lock bolt back when empty- no lock- round ejected though. Then loaded the last 5 rounds to check feeding. They fed with out any problems and at about 50 yards got alittle over 1.5"group with 3 shots under 1" from kneeling position. To cure lock back the next rounds will be loaded to 19.5grs. These were sized to .225" in Lee push through. I think this bullet will be a winner for me.

I bought that same mold but haven't shot any of the boolits yet. I also have the older Bator with the large flat nose that works just fine in my AR and Contender rifle, all the way up to 3,619 fps average.
I am gonig to try to get some of these loaded tomorrow.

Well I chronied my load of 19.5 grs of IMR3031 out of my Savage Hunter. Going to have to load these down cause I was getting an average of 2400 fps. Just to fast and accuracy showed it. I can drop it down to 18 grs for the bolt gun and will re test . Need to get it down to 2000 fps. I did load my AR rounds to 19 grs to see if I can get full function just lacked lock back at 18.7grs. The 16" barrel should be around 2000-2100fps.
