Who makes a quality AAC 300 Blackout bolt gun?

I don't know whether to go with the bolt action or AR style rifle. What do y'all think?

If you already have an AR, just get an upper. For suppression nothing beats a bolt gun, but it is not hard to add a gas block with a shut off. Add a side charge upper, and you have the best of both worlds. I really like the 300, but you have to understand its limitations on game, and not make it into something it is not. It seems given the choice when I take people to the range they prefer shooting the 300's more than the 5.56's for some reason. It does a little better on the fun factor I suppose.

I like the bolt rifle. I can shoot light boolits subsonic with trail boss, red dot or any of the fast pistol/shotgun powders. They are very quiet compared to 200+grain subsonic loads wi th AA1680 or similar powders. I think there is a lot more flexibility with the bolt gun.

Mine is a custom 300 whisper on a 700 short action so I can't help you with current available rifles.

I just got a Ruger American in 300 BO...and without having a chance to shoot it, I am very impressed. I bought mine at Whitaker guns, and with a Sightron S1 3-9x40 HHR scope, it was about 450 shipped.

I have both the AAC which is built on the remington model-7 action [700+ bucks], and the ruger American.
the ruger costs half and the looser tolerances show it.
I still like shooting it better.

you have another option, buy a 223 bolt rifle and get a 1-7 twist barrel screwed on it.
that would be the road I would take looking back.

I have a fast twist 223, and the Blackout...the Blackout does things the 223 wont, and the reverse is true. I dont find them comparable in many, if any ways.

I have a Remington 700 SPS in 300 Black Out. I bought it before the Ruger American in 300 came out. I like it but it is heavy. Shoots well off the bench. Still might buy the Ruger American in 300 Black out if I find a good deal on one. Have the Ruger Predator in 223 and really like it.

They have the Model 7 for $599, the cheapest I have seen it.

If you can find one, H&H made some Handi Rifles in 300 Blackout and CVA makes in in their single shot (Scout or Hunter, I forget which) as well. I bought a CVA from Bud's for <$200 and have been quite pleased.

I have the CVA as well...but its being replaced by the American. The CVA is OK, but a repeater is a much better package for the round.

I think you misunderstood my last sentence.
buy a 223 rifle and have a 30 caliber 7 twist barrel screwed on it.
