    Danish M47 Rifle

A few years back i bought a M47 at a local gunshop they had it mark as a Mauser 30-06 first one i ever seen in person. I have see picture of them and i knew they only made about 6,500 of them. I bought it cheap 220.00 dollars in really nice shape. I never fired it and i do reload for 30-06. Its a nice carbine size rifle that would be a good deer rifle. I wonder if the receiver they used is as strong as a Mauser and does anyone else has a M47 They are very uncommon rifle to find.

They came out after WWII when auto-loading battle rifles were well proven.

For $220, I don't think you got hurt any. I know Ian mentioned scope mounting was supposed to be available from the factory, but it looks to be a PITA to actually put a scope on. I would leave it as an iron sighted gun.

Probably never going to be a big collector interest, but this is one milsurp I would leave in as issued state.

    That's a Madsen rifle.
    I've got one.
    I like it. Good shooter.

OK, Madsen. They were plentiful when I was a teen, in the 60s. Looked like
a long reach to the bolt, I think they had a rubber buttpad, IIRC. Supposed to
be quality, but never shot one.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
