    when should lube flow?

Just got an old San Diego sizer with a couple dies. $195 shipped, I'm pretty pleased.
So I have a question about when lube should flow, I was cleaning out the old lube and wondering...
If I take the sizing die out and screw down the top pressure screw, lube flows into the die area. Is this normal, or should lube only flow when the handle is pulled down and the pump plunger is activated?

That is normal for the lyman/Rcbs sizers, and I would assume yours as well. Care to post some pics of your new toy?? I would love to see a couple, never heard of the San Diego brand.

I have both Lyman and RCBS sizers, and that sure is how they operate, I just assumed the Star would only flow when the handle was pulled, not when the pressure screw was screwed down. I guess I meant "San Diego" vintage of the Star brand. This thing is surely older than I!

If you apply enough pressure with the spring it will flow right through the pump if the lube is soft at room temp. Sounds normal to me. Mine is also a San Diego Star.

totally normal, I heat and crank the screw all of the way down to get old lube out this way.
