    1 oz tin mold

    hi, is there a common household item that will cast a one ounce ingot of tin/pewter? or is there a commercial mould made by somebody? thank you irishtoo

    The concave bottom of a beverage can should do it. Make a dipper by cutting down a large caliber cartridge case until it pours a one ounce dip. A standard Lyman dipper pours ~2 ounces depending on the fill.

    I bought a LEE 12 cavity RB mold for that reason,40lbs of rad shop solder

    Why not just pour the molten tin from a ladle, directly into a bucket of water, then you'd have something like shotgun shot. You would have almost infinite measuring capabilities.

    A member gave me a damaged 54 maxi ball mold that throws about an ounce of tin. Others have done it by drilling appropriate sized holes in a piece of hardwood.
    Plenty of ways to skin this cat.

    If you do this, be aware that you could easily have trapped water in the result. Put it into a cold pot only.

    Just make sure to keep them labeled or you may find yourself shooting some very light, very expensive bullets ten years down the road.

    I use a bullet mold and then smack them with a hammer.

    use a duck strap anchor mold. I can cut the straps with scissors to what ever size and easy to store.
