My new rifle arrrived last week but I didn't get it untill today due to R.I.'s 7 day wait. This is still very much a work in progress, if you look at the pictures you might notice the stock is slightly rough. As a matter of fact as soon as I finish this thread I will sharpen my chain saw.
I couldn't be more happy with the metal work, the metal finish is yet to come, and the action works smoothly and flawlessly. There are a few differences from an origional hi-wall, the hammer should be cocked before opening the action since a few changes were made to the design which cuts down on parts and allows the use of lighter springs. All the springs except the hammer spring are coil springs and the hammer spring is a cable type spring. Dennis Feken, did a fine job building this action and creating a light crisp trigger pull with no over travel.
As some of you may know I chose to chamber for 38-55 with a tang rear sight, globe front sight and blocks for a Lyman Target Spot scope to be installed as well.
Here are some pictures before I start whittling.
