Excellent thread....dropped some bi90/sn10 the other day out of homemade nozzles and got some fairly round shot bit varied sizes 3-6. Any suggestions for more consistent size?

The PEOPLE who rammed steel shot threw talked a big stick and as the meetings when on , Less and Less people attended the meetings. Hence steel became the law. Here's what I know for fact. Its Bull hockey. Show me the dead ducks.... I was all over the edges of lakes streams and ponds looking for Crips. Its strange the ONLY ducks we found were wounded horizontally. AGAIN show me the dead ducks. They sure disappeared and all talk also of them. Were did all that poison shot go so quickly.. Magic Bird counts sure started rising when the hunters buying licenses and shells , etc. started dropping so fast. Regs eased up so they would hunt some more and buy more. Guns , Farming and DOPE is what keeps America going.

Steel did not become the law. They just outlawed lead. Steel became the default waterfowl shot material because it was the lowest priced "non-tox" available.

Lead, was, ‘outlawed’, in the USA by the, Sullivan Act, in 71.
NO ONE NEW, NO ONE WAS TOLD, NO ONE WAS INFORMED.

It was to be introduced, 10 years later. First it was, ‘Un-Leaded Gas’.
(Which was MORE, expensive the the, ‘lead’ gas)

Then Shot on shotguns. First it was ALL, Public Swamps.
with a 5 year, gradual, reduction, to, ALL WATERFOWAL.

I Shot Lead, for 5 years, in a ‘private’ swamp, Legally, after it was, Illegal, to do so in a ‘Public’ swamp.

First year, of, ‘HAVING’ to do, (Non-Toxic) Which Steel was the ONLY option at that time.
Using a B-S/S in26” IC/M, two Northern Green heads, came over, about 30 yards.
Shot twice. TWO, Huge Puffs of feathers, and they kept on flying.
Watched, about 2 miles away, saw two tiny specks drop straight down.

Steel, was 2+ times more expensive than Lead.
and 10 Times LESS Effective !!!!!!!!

Today, Steel, (and like, very hard shot), has gotten better,
BUT, it STILL, is NOT Nearly as effective as Lead.
But today the, ‘ME’ generation, who buys New Guns, For Steel,
and, ’Spray and Pray’, shoot Steel, because they know nothing else.

No where, absolutely NO WHERE, has their been a compressive study, on, ‘lead’ shot.
The USFWS, ‘alludes’, to some PART, of studies, That were NEVER Completed !
But their are ABSOLUTELY NO FACTS !!!!!!

    Let’s see, Take 1000 ducks,
divide them into groups of 100.
Then divide that into groups of 10.
THEN, Feed them, ‘X’ size of Lead pellets,
in ‘X’ amounts, until they die.

    That’s ONLY ONE PART.

Now, determine, How many Lead Pellets, are avabale, in a muck bottom Swamp, for the Bottom Feeding Ducks.
(Diving Ducks, eating minnows, NOT AFFECTED !)

Gee, their are LESS, Hunting Licenses, ALL Over.
And Less People Hunting, ALL Over.
So More, ‘Anti Gun’, people, simply because they have NEVER used one.
And think all meat come from a Supermarket,
    (where No Animals were harmed)

I think i may start substituting lead shavings/powder into all my recipes that call for pepper since there isn't any proof that its not good for ducks to eat lead.

Question, Has anyone made, ‘Larger’, Shot, Like, BB’s “T”, #4 Buck,
In a, ‘drop’, shot, configuration. ?

    In, A Bismuth Mix?
(Currently, using 88% Bi & 12% Sn, And Molding)

‘Drop’ Shot would be faster, and more convent.
As Nobody, is Selling, (Just Shot), (ITX-Nice-Shot), a size larger than 2’s.
And nobody is loading a, (non-Toxic), shell, in Larger Sizes.
And the ones that are on the market, are, Woefully, low in FPS.
And we all know, a, MFG, Statement of a certain fps,
is 50-100 fps BELOW, what they say in their advertising.

    Goose18557,

Didn’t know that, Mammals, had Gizzards?
But if you want to, ‘powder Lead’, and use it for seasoning, go ahead !

Answer this: How many Lead pellets, over ‘X’ Amount of time, in ‘X’ Size, does it take to damage a , Duck/Goose?
Then, Answer this: How Many Lead Pellets, can a diving Duck/Goose, get, out of the Muck.

Nether ONE, of those questions have, EVER, been answered. EVER !

If a, Mammal, (Human), Ingested a Lead Pellet, or Several, it would just pass through.
