    Blackmon BSSP press strength

Just curious to know the strength of the BSSP. Could it safely swage WW lead to make 40 and 45 cal bullets? I was thinking about swaging some lead boolits to powder coat, but dont want to use pure lead for this. I have been casting all the powder coated boolits I shoot, but would like to shoot some different types of projectiles I'm able to swage.

I would think W-W lead is to hard.

I swage range scrap lead all the time using a Rock Chucker press and a single stage die. It is mostly a reshaping issue as I cast a bullet that is similar first. I usually take a semi wad cutter bullet, lube it and then use a semi wad cutter die to reshape it. Haven't had any problems yet.

I think the question you need to ask is, "Is the die strong enough?"
A vote for anyone other then the conservative candidates is a vote for the liberal candidates.

What would the hardness of the cast bullet be right out of the mold? I have thought about swagging as soon as possible right out of the mold.
It would be interesting to know if the die and the press would withstand the WW before fully hardened.

Yeah I'm honestly not sure if the dies will hold. I'm currently in the process of making some swage dies in 45 and 40 cal. They're made from O1 tool steel and will be heat treated professionally by a friend. Reason I asked if the press could take it is because I dont want to break it of the dies can take it. If not, I'll just swage jacketed bullets and use my molds for powder coated WW lead.
