    H4350

Hi... I am using H4350 in my 6.5 Creedmoor and have a question. After I am done shooting, I go to clean the rifle, and the first patches are very black and kinda greasy looking. I am assuming that this is from the powder? Any suggestions to the cause? I am using 37-39 grains behind a 140 bullet. Same scenario if I use a 129 gr.

    I like this powder in 6.5x55 for Swedes and Norway Krag both 140gr and 160 gr J-bullets , 30/40 Krag w 150gr j-bullet and 7.5x55 Swiss 168gr. j-bullet....I've never noticed this dirty/greasy phenomenon...

If you're concerned about it, you might want to try different primers, and see how they effect it. Primers are igniters, and sometimes, a change in ignition yields different results. It all depends on the powder, pressure and volume of powder in the case. If I were concerned about it, this is what I'd try first, at least.

Problem solved...Loaded up a box with CCI primers, was out of the WLR I usually use, and the barrel cleaned normal. I used that box of WLR's in my .308, and had 6 misfires. Evidentially, I had a sleeve of bad/old primers. All is happy now! Thanks for all of your help!

Ive got 6 packs left out of a brick of those old ww silver colored primers. Ive had a couple misfires with them and hate to use them but cant seem to throw them out.
