I was shooting the lee 113 grain soup can bullet out of my 03a3 and got under a half inch group at 35 yards. I was using 700x. It's just a light plinking load and I don't know if that's what your after but if you are it sure shoots good. Check out the thread on my page about it.

I have Lee 312-155 ..powder coat and gas checked .... 8g of red dot or bullseye... right around 1200-1250 fps ... with the battle sight of a 1903 folded down ...they shoot to the point of aim at 50 yards with a fist sized group ... and about a 6 in hold over at 100 yrds ..I just ring steel at 100..and while offhand..they ring most of the time . It's been said here before ...fit is king for cast ... but I think if you slow those down a bit they will settle in on paper.

My 03A3 has a 1944 vintage 4 groove barrel and my best group to date has been this 10 shot at 100yds using 28.5gns 3031 and a Lyman 311284 sized to .310 @ 1764fps!

Hold Still Varmint; while I plugs Yer!

Nice shooting there Wallace. I have recently discovered 3031 as an excellent cast bullet powder. have not tried it in my 03A3 yet. but the rifle shoots 311332 sized to .309 very well with 14 grains of blue dot. found that 26 grains of 3031 shoots very well in my 96/11 and my .303 british. cheers.
