I have an old Martini Cadet, brought over from Australia sometime a lifetime ago. She was rechambered and bored out to .357 Magnum some time after that, and I have had no issues shooting factory ammo through her, but she seems to much prefer LRN boolits from the bulk packs.
I have a bunch of 180 grain LFNGC and a 158 grain Keith-style SWCGC, and I was wondering how much of the Holy Black I should load for some SAS type shooting. I've wanted to try to go to a local SASS shoot for a while now, and I want to shoot my Martini there.
I have loaded my wife's .45-70-405 Gubberment with Holy Black with a lightly compressed load under a 405 LFNGC and she shot amazingly well, putting a .458 hole through the 10 inch oak log I was using to tack my targets to with the first shot.
Is that what I should do to the .38 Special loads I want to work up, or do I nibble the lead and try and source some TrailBoss up here in The Great White North of Alaska?
