I got to spend some more time at the range today with the 338-06 Springfield 1903. Bullet of choice is the 33-210P. Casts out at .332", gets patched to .343" and sized to .339" in a Lee push through sizer. For today's shooting the load was .5cc IMR4227 + 57gr. WC 860. Bullets hand seated in unsized cases. It was holding 2 MOA on paper at 100M, and had no problem hitting the highpower silhouettes out to 500M off the bench. I am really liking this load, need to chronograph it but it feels like between 2000 and 2100 fps based on the drop I was seeing. And it actually was tracking to the GI sights, so possibly going faster than I think. At any rate, primers were all rounded with no pressure signs and fired cases fell right out. I need to cast up a bunch more of those bullets and do further testing, but I think I have a winner with this one.
