The R7 is one of the sweetest shooting springers ever. Very calm on discharge but still enough power even for light hunting. Easy cocking and very accurate. Everyone needs one, It would be ideal for target practice at that range.

I had the HW30 which is a lesser expensive version of the R7. It was very impressive in feel, fit and finish..was very accurate out to 20 yards, very quiet and smooth. Just so long as no one expect a powerhouse, its a very low velocity springer. I liked mine very much.

I have a R7. It was a good shooter. Low cocking effort, accurate, low noise level and it won't bust your budget to get one. That is about all I remember about it. I got it as my first springer and my daughter commandeered it. I get to see it every now and then when we go camping she will still bring it.

I know I like mine, have had it since the 1980's. Very accurate and easy to cock & shoot.

Won't go wrong with an R7 for gentle and accurate shooting at the shorter ranges. Actually, with CPs, they do well at moderate ranges also.

I'm guessing Larry is referring to Crosman Premiers.

Correct. The CPs will hold accuracy out to moderate ranges (20 - 40 yards) in the R7 where many pellets won't.

Just to make sure I wasn't telling lies I went out and shot these 5 at 50 yards with R7 and the JSB. Not nearly as good as my fwb 124 or Walther LGV but decent.Click image for larger version.
