    Moose down!

Not a cast kill technically (but the coup de grace was cast enabled). My .300 Win mag @ 150 yds put him on the ground, but was still alive (barely) when I walked up. I was anxious to go summon help, so I hastened his demise with a finishing shot out of my Ruger .41 mag BH and 255 gn WFN boolit.

Bravo. You moose hunters must be a pretty strong bunch to be moving those moose around for photo props. Isn't that nice that a vegetarian provides 16 oz steaks for about a year.
May you hands be warmed on a frosty day.

Congrats, first. Second - can you fit all that terrific meat in one freezer ??? What's the approx poundage expected out of a mature bull ??

Oddly enough he died in that upright position. If he hadn't, we weren't budging him.

I have 2 extra freezers. I got close to 400 lbs of boned out meat from the beast.

That is awesome. A very regal looking animal. Now hopefully your family will have meat for the winter. Stay safe.

a little off subject, but what is your favorite cut and recipe once you harvest one?

Congrats on a nice one!! That's a hunt i'd love to make one day. Lol sounds like you may have to use one of those extra freezers you have.

Lot of good eating! Would feed me for 4+ years! Nephew sent me 1/4 moose one year and it was more than I could eat in a year...
