    Diamond L ingot

Hey guys I picked up this ingot and was wondering if anyone has seen this before. I got it from a automotive machine shop and it seems harder than pure lead not as heavy either.

Nope. What information did your internet search reveal?

Not much of anything for a search. I will have to go through the stickies and try to see temp it melts at.

Could it possibly be a Babbitt metal? Used in a lot of the older machines to pour bearings.

Looks less like an ingot and more like a part or piece designed to fit someplace. Not that this helps track it down, just an observation.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.
