Not sure, when I wrote the programme for the reamer I was very new to CNC and just tried to copy the Lapua Scenar ,its not quite there but it's in between the 6s Corbin die I have and the Lapua so I'm guessing 6.5 or maybe 7

Well done. At the encouragement of guys in this forum, I am collecting the equipment to make my own dies, but I am not there yet. It is very encouraging to see guys be successful at it. Thanks for posting your pics.

Nice job! I second the comments about learning to do that someday.

How did you go about polishing it? Looks like you hardened it also? Looking to make my own also.

I used brass lapps and diamond paste to polish the die before and after hardening.

Very nice looking bullet with extra small meplat.
It was finished after swaging or it was made in swaging process?

I made the die with a 2mm meplat ,I was worried that extracting the bullet would be difficult but Iv'e had no problems yet.

Two questions, what press does it fit? And did you make it on a lathe or mill?
Your micrometer gives a hint of nice tooling.

I will soon be setting up a small CNC mill with fourth axis in my garage. Thoughts of making a couple swage dies keep swirling through my head. Machine time making dies in a mill would make them very expensive to sell, but a nice project for personal use.

I have similar questions. I will soon be aquiring a lathe and will be attempting to make my own dies for 45 cal. I'm expecting the first several to be wrong in one way or another, but it still seems like a fun project.

The die fits a Corbin S press and it was made on a lathe ,I converted the lathe to cnc myself but most of the machining was done manually from the tail stock except the threads which are a breeze with cnc

    Nice Job!!

How were you able to drill the tiny ejection hole straight? I've always read that's one of the most difficult to get it straight and not have the bit walk.

How do you determine radius on a lathe for the radius cutter?

It even has a boat tail. Way to go, good looking for home made. Gotta get my lathe set up and get going. Can I borrow your ream?
