    Greetings Ron
Nice photo ! Certainly enough gun and well chosen. And the best.. 175 yds ! That is one you need to be sure gets put in the hunting journal. Well done is not sufficient ! How about a little icing on this story.

OK. I hunt a local cattle farm for Turkey and Whitetail deer and as a return favor shoot the Groundhogs and Coyotes that are abundant there. The farmer grows Alfalfa to feed the cattle which draws the Groundhogs, the calves draw the Coyotes.
Today when I arrived I saw the cattle bunched up and nervous. Wiley was trotting left to right at ~175 yds. He stopped,......waited too long.
I only kept the tail, which I just stripped the tail bone out.
    Cheers,

Would feel sorry for the yote, but admire the rifle and the shot too much to dwell on the yote. Also, we're seeing liberal numbers of coyotes here in SoCal. And, with no wolves, except for "The Goofy Wolf" in my avatar, to keep yotes in check, we have to keep them in check.

    Really nice shot RonT.

Give it a few years. There is a pack in Northern CA and we all know they tend to breed and move quickly.

Great shot and nice rifle

He was only a "bad dog" till he was shot. The only good coyote is a dead coyote.

    Poor critter didn't deserve that.

You should have used a 223 AR or something. It would almost be an honor to be the yote that caught a bullet from a rifle that nice.
