    patching a Browning 71

I have tried searching and I am having no luck. Seems like like a perfect candidate for patching. Lots of case capacity and an odd ball size round with many more options .010 smaller. Has anyone done it?

    Thanks

So size your bullets about 8 thou. under groove, patch with .002 tracing paper and have at it. Should work famously.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.

Especially if you use something like the Ranch Dog 338 boolit, cast at .340" and patched up to 350" or so. Depending on your rifle's actual dimensions of course. But that's a boolit designed for lever guns, has a nice wide nose, and is about right to start with.
